Sony has opened a PS hub and office in Singapore back in April 2013. They've combined Japan and South East Asia into one demographic. PC has always been dominant here because console games company tend to overlook our potential. Until now.

The analyst actually says that worldwide figures are about the same, despite the number of countries Sony are launching in.

So worldwide figures are about the same, US figures are about the same. If the analyst is analysing accurately then Sony must be spreading their consoles thin across those extra countries.

Not that any of that should really bother you or me, so long as we get our consoles :)

I don't think it'll be close here in the US. Not as close as many people are predicting, anyway. 3:2 or so, which at a million sales for the XB1, would see half a million more for PS4, a significant difference at launch.

And outside the US? Forget about it.

If they ship the same quantity of consoles you can be sure that both will sale the same because both will sell out.
How is possible that people think that ps4 will sell more because will launch in more countries?
Come on, more countries but with the same number of consoles in the streets means same sales in this case.

Because it's highly unlikely they'll be shipping the same number. Even if Sony were only shipping to fulfill their preorder numbers- and they're going to ship a deal more than that- they'd be sending more to stores than Microsoft. In the US and Europe, the PS4 sits at about a million apiece; the rest of the world may total up to a third million.

Do you think, simply on the strength of preorders alone, the XB1 is matching that? It definitely won't have as much interest in Asia, or even in Europe, which has been traditionally PlayStation territory.

That leaves the US and the UK- areas where the 360 led or still leads- and those are both currently in the PS4's hands.

Granted, not every preorder is an automatic sale, but the more there are, the more interest a console has, in general. And the more people are interested in a console, the more likely they are to buy that console.

It's not about absolutes, but rather drawing intelligent inferences and/or conclusions from the information at hand. When you do that, you realize that it's far more likely that Sony will ship more consoles than Microsoft.

But the cuantity of consoles won't be the result of preorders instead will be the result of the bottleneck of production......and that is why I don't agree with you.
Every console will be sold at launch for both so the one who has more consoles in store will be the winner of this first round.
After that will be abou the games and the public opinion and for that we have to wait a little bit longer.
