The next-gen console war is set to begin in earnest this November, when the first PlayStation 4 goes on sale in the US. With that fight about to begin, it still needs to be determined who won the last console war. MWEB GameZone's columnist takes a stab at answering that question.
Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
I'd say Sony. Here's why:
Nintendo and Microsoft had a whole year's headstart. But Wii faded in the end, and There are about the same, or more PS3s sold than Xbox 360....
That is after PS3 launched one year later than Xbox 360, costed hundreds of dollars more, and was extremely hard to find in its early days.
Now, at the end of this gen, PS3 has the best exclusives, a great online component, over 80 million sold worldwide, and PlayStation Plus.
Great read and i agree with the author. The Wii just kinda fell by the wayside - if you have to compare it with the Xbox360 7 PS3.
Great article, really interesting!!!
Can't say for sure who won, but I can tell you that Nintendo Wii indisputably lost.
as of now it is the Wii, but the PS3 is no where near to the end of its life cycle and could overtake the Wii eventually. Plus the complete downfall of the Wii at the end of its life doesn't suggest a win. So I'd say the verdict is still not confirmed
