PS4 or Xbox One? That is the question

Level Complete's Sam Hewitt has been sitting in the neutral position for quite some time. Is it now time for him to make the big decision: PS4 or Xbox One? That is the question!

Oh! because my nephew lives with me (12 years old) and I bought him a Day1 XB1 for his birthday, which he asked for. So we will have 2 XB1 + 1 PS4 at launch for my house.

We already have a Wii U, but we don't play it that often. Soon I will pick up The Wonderful 101, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Lego Marvel so we can get more use out of the console.

It's probably best to get XBO now since it has a more rich launch line up, and go for the PS4 later when things pick up. Sony always starts off slow and builds.

The dedicated servers are a big reason I am going with the X1. I also want in game video chat. The X1 is a natural progression to the 360, so the X1 is my obvious choice.

PS4 will feature dedicated servers, just like many games on the ps3.

No the ps4 will not have dedicated servers for all its MP games. COD Ghosts wont have dedies on ps4, they will have listen servers, which is essentially p2p. Killzone SF will have dedies for stats but not gameplay.

I love people that say both. Hahaha why would waste so much money just to play a few exclusives. Sorry but halo and gears or dead rising dont warrant spending a few 100 extra dollars.

Somehow I don't think that people who say "both" need any exclusives to justify their XB1 purchase.

It all strikes me as either having enough money that it doesn't matter, or pure Xbox brand loyalty. Yes, I said Xbox brand loyalty, even though they are buying both systems. They can't see themselves with a Playstation and no Xbox, so they justify by buying both.

If someone would say simply, "I must have Halo and that's all there is to it" I could understand and actually respect that. Halo is good enough for some people to like it that much. Such a person would be a homer for one game.

But don't try to tell me that, the whole Xbox exclusive library, which is only about 5 - 10 franchises (Halo, Fable, Forza, Alan Wake, and (I'm missing something, feel free to help me out), is worth giving up an extra $100 AND the entire Playstation exclusive library, which has got to be around 40 franchises; and that still claim to be impartial to the underlying system.

If I were to write it as a formula, I suppose that anyone who tells you this

Xbox library - favorite Xbox game > Playstation library - favorite Playstation game + $100

is an Xbox homer.

There is just not enough franchises or studios (which is actually more important) in the Xbox library for that to be the case.

sony as of right now has a pathetic 2014 and nothing day 1. I have both preordered and im suppose to sell ps4 for 450 to a friend.
