Pre-launch Interest In Sony PS4 Is Twice Higher Than Xbox One

With less than a month to go before the next-generation console war is unleashed, new research shows that Sony’s PlayStation 4 has taken a significant early lead over the Xbox One, with more than two times as many gamers said to be interested in the former as they are in the latter.

While the launch line for the PS4 is not steller, i`am not buying the PS4 for now, i am buying the PS4 for Uncharted 4, TLoU 2, GoW 5 and GT7.

I tried to use a 360 controller on my PC, just could not get use to it, the left stick is in the wrong place, currently use a DS3 with Motionjoy for my PC gaming needs.

Sony also has dedicated servers you know, lol.

You're in the minority here. Very small minority. Xbox controller is the defacto standard for PC gamepads. All new games already have the built in driver for every title. It's just plug and play. Xbox One has dedicated servers for EVERY GAME. Everyone of them.

@Ohio - Actually, you're in the minority here. This is a PS friendly site, after all. Having MS controller drivers included with PC titles is about as impressive as having Windows on every PC. Both are more about business deals than actual superiority. I find the analog placement on XBox controllers to be bizarre. It boggles my mind that anyone thinks that's actually better or ergonomic in any way. Also, as mxrider said and I pointed out above, games that pay for it will have dedicated virtual servers.

Edit - You're right about them being free, but they are virtual servers, which doesn't mean a whole lot yet. Once the console launches we'll see how well those virtual servers perform.

@MysticStrummer This site was actually a Xbox stronghold when I first joined years ago but that changed quickly as the PS3 gained ground on the X360 and we saw what it was capable of.

What the Xbone is getting now with bad publicity and gamers ire is the exact same thing the PS3 got near to and after launch.

OT: I prefer the DS3 as well but I have a Xbox pad for my PC atm. If Sony does create drivers for their PS4 gamepad I will be swapping.

@ohiostatesman All multiplayer games should have dedicated server support. This shouldn't be a commendation it should be a non-issue and be expected of the console devs especially on a subscription service.

My hands are absolutely massive, (i'm over 6ft tall) but i cannnot use a 360 control, i also use motionjoy and xpadder - great tools.
I will admit the trigers suck on the DS3 but, the analog sticks are symetrical like my hands.

My second console will be a Wii U, only for Nintendo IP's... I don't understand how some buy both a Xbox and a Playstation ...that wouldn't be worth it imo. Both are more or less the same except for the exclusives and some minor differencies.

I don't know yet. Definitely getting PS4, i was gonna wait year to see how X one does before i consider buying it, but now i'm thinking i should just build a PC in year. I mean i really don't feel the need for both consoles, especially considering now i'll have pay for online for both. Also kinect is huge turn off for me, after price drop it wouldn't be a big deal, but the X one on it's own isn't worth $500.

Out of pure curiosity, have you tried both controllers?

Was just wondering, because I've heard a lot of reports (even people who preferred 360 controller this gen) that people preferred the PS4 to Xbox One controller, or they were about even.

Hang tight though, launch games certainly aren't everything. Especially when you look at the exclusives released the past few years for 360/PS3, it seems like Microsoft pushed back quite a few 360 games to make Xbox One stronger.

Playstation has garnered so much favor (mine included) after MS revealed their "vision" for the future that the majority despised. Not to beat a dead horse but that's the thing. MS hasn't changed their vision. They just postponed it. They haven't learned anything except that they're going to have to use a different tactic to force their fans & consumers into the MS design mold.

The only thing that will keep sales close between ps4/xb1 is the amount of supply the ps4 will have. Sony will sell everything shipped instantly and if they can keep up w/ demand somewhat they will surely outsell xb1 easily.

Pre orders don't give the whole story imo, I've got 2 xbox and two ps4 pre orders... Doesn't mean they will get my money for all 4 I'm just holding out to see which company gives the best deals and fastest shipping before I cancel 3 of them.I'm sure loads of people are ordered both or one after e3 with no intention of buying both. For me I'm getting xbox1 first (here come the disagrees) and a ps4 when god of war or the last of us comes out because nothing right now interests me that inst multi plat on PlayStation.

I've never heard tell of anyone ever doing anything like this before, not just with consoles but anything. Do you know others that do that? That seems like an awful lot of work to just get a single console.

Because I'm not a fan boy and at the time of e3 neither console had sold me but I wanted to secure both for launch. I know plenty if people who have ordered both but will only choose one. Only reason I ordered 4 instead of two was I ordered one set on Amazon and one set in my local store. In case the store or Amazon had limited stock at launch. I've got both consoles of of this gen. I've had all PlayStation's and Xbox just when the first Xbox came out I've always preferred it. No big deal if others prefer the PS just enjoy either or both. I never stuck to either console for multi plats I bought platformers and action games on ps3 and shooters first and third on Xbox. :-)

I had 3 PS4's pre-ordered. 2 through Amazon, 1 through GameStop(which is already paid off). I canceled one of the PS4 pre-orders because I don't need 2. I just secured my pre-orders early just in case something came up. The second one I'm keeping because a friend of mine wants one and he'll pay me for it in installments. I ended up cancelling the Watch Dogs one that went to a regular launch version. I suppose I could have sold it on Ebay for some money, but I prefer someone that wants it to be able to get it at a reasonable price.

I can't get with the idea of buying a launch console for games that aren't coming out until well after launch... If the games you want aren't there at launch, wouldn't it make more sense to wait until those games are available before buying the console? There's a good chance there will be bundles and price drops at that time.

The only time I buy a console at launch is if it has MUST HAVE games on day one. The closest thing I see to a must have exclusive title is Forza 5 (my opinion, not a fact). The other titles are worth holding out for reviews (Ryse, killzone, dead Rising 3), or are last gen ports.

It makes more sense, to me, than buying a console JUST for the launch titles, with no idea what's coming afterward. On PS4, you know the developers who'll be making games in the near future, and you know the quality they'll be bringing to the table. There's a huge list of games in the works for PS4, and even if they don't all have names, you at least know they're on the way. On the other hand, there isn't really a lot- even as little as speculation- on the XB1 side of things.

Besides, it'll be hard to take advantage of whatever Plus deals there are on PS4 if you don't have a PS4. And there's always the chance that you'll see something you like that you weren't actually interested in. Kinda like Plus, in general.

There's no shortage of good games from good developers in the works on either console. Xbox one has Titanfall, Halo5, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Project Spark, Fable Legends, Black Tusk Game, Kinect Sports Rivals, to name a few, and undoubtedly quite a few unannounced titles.

But that's besides the point. It doesn't make sense to buy a launch console solely on the promise of future titles. It would make more sense to wait for those future titles, and likely benefit from bundles and deals.

For many, there are launch titles there available at launch that they want to play. KZ:SF seems to be popular. I'm personally looking forward to Knack. I'll be getting those 2 and AC4. Since Watch Dog's got delayed, I'm not really sure what to get as my 4th game. Would have been NFS:Rivals, but GT6 comes out a couple weeks later. It'll probably be Lego Marvel Superheroes, which I was just going to get on the PS3 since it's cheaper, but might as well take the plunge.

First half of next year is looking good though. I don't mind taking the plunge early. Launch window isn't barren by any means, and still a crap ton of stuff coming out on PS3 for any dry spell that comes around. My current PS3/Vita/3DS/Wii U backlog is enough to keep me going for a couple years by itself..:)

uhhh so is it reflected in pre-orders... last i heard it was projected for Ps4 to do 1-1.5 million and X1 projected to do 1-1.2 million systems sold. So that like saying Ps4 should do 2.5 million on launch which would be a challenge itself seeing that they have to fulfill the orders they have so far by the end of the New Year.

I have no doubt the PS4 will be the leading console on next-generation. It is a more attractive choice plus is the most powerful console. Not to mention that in the long run it will have the best exclusive.

Pretty much any where you look world wide the ps4 is getting around 2/3 to 1 to the xbone , it just seems that there isnt much MS can do, I dont really care that much tho because the ps2 was fine with no competition what so ever and i think the ps4 will do just fine as well IF it goes that way.
