Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes - VS - Phantom of Pain

When Kojima revealed Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes to the community, it had us all in awe at the almost Next - Gen visuals. Konami also took things even further by revealing the open world elements of the game. A few months after Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes released, Konami revealed Metal Gears Solid: The Phantom of Pain, an extension to the event’s happening in Ground Zeroes. The two experiences may cover the adventures of Snake, but the two experiences are very different.

No joke, I actually thought these two games were one.

ssj273831d ago

so they are two games? ones is for the current gen and one is for next gen right?
can anyone help.. this seem as confusing as MGS timeline history if your first mgs was 4 lol

RXL3831d ago

says it will be packaged differently..so maybe like...how dead rising 2 had that prologue and THEN the full retail game?...or if it'll be two separate game entities unto themselves..

that's the bit they aren't clear about..

Kalebninja3831d ago

rxl is correct ground zeros is the phantom pains case zero but it'll be longer

leahcim3831d ago

me too WTF, I am really loosing interest on one of my dearest franchise

chinlu3831d ago

So it's the Phantom OF pain? I thought it was just the phantom pain. The phantom pain sounds alot better.

SniperControl3831d ago (Edited 3831d ago )

It is the Phantom Pain, don't know where the website got "of" from.

Just a typo, the rest of the article states "Phantom Pain"

N7KIRK3831d ago

Yes it is indeed The Phantom Pain. This is just wtf. lol.

showtimefolks3831d ago

IGN explained it well few months back, it is one game in one package

but who knows its all confusing as of now in true Kojima style lol

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3830d ago

When did IGN confirm that? Link? All I know is that Kojima is constantly asked this question about how they are be sold and he always says" I can't talk about that right now". Well why the hell not? it's obvious to me that it is going to be sold separately or else there wouldn't be any confusion.

showtimefolks3830d ago

Kojima started the entire GDC panel by saying that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain combine to make MGS5.

but its all confusing so just wait and see

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3830d ago

I know he said that but what that means in my opinion is that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are two halves of the same game. I know that Kojima said that GZ is the prologue but it is probably a long prologue. If you look at the TGS demo for GZ then it has it's own title screen and it has several mission select slots which tells me it will be relatively long for a prologue which spans multple missinos. Hopefully before this year ends we will get GZ.

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro41d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7241d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_41d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200042d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin42d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole41d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix42d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198941d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor41d ago (Edited 41d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

Mine have to be last of us, Joel's daughter. Maybe it hits different when you have kids vs bot. I'll throw ff7 up there to. On the verge of looking like some sort of love triangle then bam, death

I think Dom's wife's death in Gears 2 was sadder then Dom. Dom's death in Gears 3 just felt rushed.
