Social Media Data Predicts Playstation 4 To Outsell Xbox One 2:1

Don't care.. Sony is #1 in the games division so I get to play overall the best games just by owning one system.

If you play games the PS4 is the best value and the best "bang for your buck".

If I play games? lol okay, and PS4 being the best bang for my buck is your opinion. I'll add to the fact that I own every console so don't say I'm a fanboy. Guess what else? I have a PS4, extra dual shock, KILLZONE reserved for November 15th at GameStop. Do you need proof? Of course not, but I would be happy to oblige.

I want all 3 to do well come the end of the generation though as its better for us gamers to have competition.

Social media is very reliable its the people who actually game and who you deal with day and day out voting and and filling out the mini surveys. Both sony and microsoft look to the social media figures to see how well they are doing. You can twist the numbers however you want...they mean absolutely nothing at this point.

People often forget that "sales" are a marathon, not a dead-sprint.

In 2006 people "predicted" that Sony would be out of the console market within a couple of years.

Here we are 7 years later and the PS3 is not only still here but has surpassed the 360.

The PS4 will absolutely have superior sales for 2013, but 2014 is a complete crapshoot at the moment, for all we know either Microsoft OR Sony could go completely under within the year.

Gonna be an interesting year, that's for damn sure.

One thing that intrigues me is that Microsoft had a year to itself with the 360 to beef up its library, then the year the ps3 launched had a lot more games only on xbox. How did Sony pull this off, catching up and surpassing them. It is probably beaten into our heads a lot, but it really seems like this launch timing parity can only favor Sony.

I just don't see how the gap wont be wider, kinect 1.0 was released in error in my opinion, they killed the fad before its prime.

Then vgchartz also mentions higher xbox 360 total game sales to ps3:

xbox 360: 826.26 million
ps3: 749.26

I strongly DOUBT Sony would be able to sustain a 2:1 lead for any significant amount if time. I think even sony would be surprised. First of all, they'd have to ship twice as many consoles as Microsoft during the holiday period, which is frankly, highly unlikely. Then they'd have to fend off the inevitable MS price drops, bundles, and maybe even subsidized cable bundles . Sony will have less flexibility here since MS isn't taking a hit with the hardware costs atm.

Twitter INTEREST in PS4 over xb1 may be 2:1 but their are too many logistics involved in this business for that to translate into directly into sales.

I'm not sure why anyone would view a sample consisting exclusively of twitter users to be a scientific representation of the entire gaming public.

Just being objective here. If I had to guess, I'd say 4:3 Sony.

I thought about this outselling thing. I think they could outsell now IF they had the stock. I dont think they have the inventory to outsell xbox and I'm sure both systems will sell out with similar amount of units.

Who knows about the long term but for now I'm sure they will be neck and neck in console sales.
