Pokemon X/Y (3DS) tops the charts with 4,128,542 sold in 1st week. psv sales triple and ps3 past 80 million sold now 1.5 million ahead of the xbox 360.

PS3 outsells X360 in America for the first time in 3 years and Vita out outsells it worldwide, maybe the first time ever, and all a month before both companies are about to launch their new consoles.

jesus look at those 3ds sales! considering the 3ds will probably have a longer lifespan than the ds i wonder where it'll sit compared to that system in the long run.

They sold 14 million in 2011/2012 and are aiming for 18 million this year (which is entirely attainable with $129 2DS and Pokemon)

I'm guessing and I could be really wrong that sales will go like this
2014: 17.5 million 2015: 15 million 2016: 13.5 million 2017: 11 million 2018: 8 million 2019: 5.5 million 2020: 2 million for a total of 118-125 million. Not near DS levels but not bad either. I'd say 2017 will be the year they release their next-gen handheld which may be a handheld/console hybrid

It could vary. It's a bit too early to tell to be honest although, if Ninty can make 2015/2016 look as good as 2013/2014 does then I'm sure that it could be on track to being the best selling platform.

I don't know who could have called it a failure if it sold about 9-12 million each year. PS Vita I think will get better only if its install base is increased. If the Vita TV can sell 10 million more then the Vita will have an install base of 16 million. If more people by the software then more games will be made for Vita which will make it succeed. It's sad that Uncharted is the only million seller on Vita :(

if its at 8 mill of sales then I could see it reaching 10 million....selling 2 million is possible....but if you think in 2 months and 2 weeks it will sell more then 2 million that is crazy.....there is nothing hot that demands it to sell more then 2 million and no I am not trying to bash it just being honest.....I see more hot games on the 3ds coming out then the vita.....but save my post I would like to be wrong

My fellow Sony gamers, the continuing successes of the PS Vita and the PS3 despite the oncoming juggernaut that is the PS4 is more than enough proof that Sony is truly the gaming company for the gaming masses! Those successes aren't simply just due to the popularity of the Sony PlayStation brand. Rather, it was...and still is...due to Sony's promised dedication to continually pump out high-quality gaming regardless of the Sony platform. Admittedly, Sony gaming doesn't have that initial rush as the COD franchise hence the smaller sales. That's because the Sony gaming community consider itself as a smaller, yet elite gaming community who strive a more refined, though provoking, higher cultured form of gaming.

If anyone dares to challenge us to list those games, those games would be the Last of Us, Puppeteer, Journey, Killzone, Infamous, and much, much more! Of course, the misguided children of Microsoft would rather say otherwise, but then again it's the equivalent of asking a drug addict criminal what he thinks of art and literature.

Microsoft's decision to no longer support the 360, as shown by the VG Chartz, is simply proof that Xbox gamers only crave cheap and "game industry stagnating" form of gaming. With more and more Xbox gamers finally waking up from years of Microsoft induced ignorance, followed by their own personal, Sony-themed gaming renaissance, it's obvious that MS is quickly shifting gears.

Microsoft's new strategy is to keep its fanbase from waking up. Their game plan (pun not intended) is to quickly lure the dim witted to purchase the Xbox One, proudly hawking its so-called "cloud power" like a dedicated "snake oil" salesman. That and the fact that its ilk are currently hypnotized and brainwashed to believe that the cinematic portions of Ryse as "actual gameplay" is to by us gamers as downright disturbing.

Of course, it is obvious that Microsoft has no plans to go beyond its cheap stale shooters. Instead, its gullible fanbase are hooked to gimmicks, slick PR, and overly stylized cinematics. The Sony gamers, known for its classiness, maturity, and intelligence, are the only ones who can see thru Microsoft!
