The PC community have talented people in their midst. If modding came to consoles, who would make them?

ape0073837d ago (Edited 3837d ago )

i disagree, we're all gamers, no people are better than other people

in fact, if consoles introduced modding,it would surpass PC modding community due to much higher player count/user base

sorane3837d ago (Edited 3837d ago )

Couldn't disagree with you more. Especially the "much higher player count/user base" part which is just plain wrong. Consoles are "ease of use" machines which attract the less tech savvy while PC is the opposite. Not saying there wouldn't be some awsome mods made on consoles or anything, just saying it wouldn't "surpass" the PC modding community.

Panthers3837d ago

the "higher player count" is wrong. Not sure where you got that information.

I game on both, but there are no games bigger than WoW, LoL, Dota 2, SC2, ect.

Educate yourself before commenting you tool, PC gamer userbase far exceeds all consoles combined. Just because this website is flooded with Sony fanboys that doesn't represent the rest of the real world.

The same people who've made all the amazing SoundShapes and LBP levels? You make it sound as if content creators are exclusive to PC. Even many PC modders play console games.

Dante813837d ago (Edited 3837d ago )

I didn't mean PC gamers, just the techie community that live and breath PC. GTA IV didn't even have mod tools like console games--they had make them themselves, and that goes for Oblivion too. There was a guy that added high-rez textures to the whole game.

That-Guy3837d ago

@Dante Oblivion had the Construction Set, a Bethesda made modding tool.

porkChop3837d ago

I get what you're saying, but it still seems like you're just assuming there aren't content creators on console. There are many of them, it's just that it's near impossible to mod console games without proper mod tools.

UT3 was a pretty cool experiment.

Mods aint so difficult to create with some time and effort (not taking anything away from the good work here btw) - you will find that there is a HUGE amount of people around who could mod for consoles as well and im speaking from a personal stand point

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing697h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos6h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming
