This is how Grand Theft Auto Online is meant to be played

Grand Theft Auto Online is all sorts of wacky fun but we believe this video showcases how it is best meant to be played.

Meant, yes, but how it is played is you are troll killed 9 times out of 10, lol.

GarrusVakarian3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

Speak for yourself, you must not have any friends. Ive played it with my closest friends 99% of the time and its a blast and because we speak on Skype we can communicate perfectly and the missions are alot of fun.

The rare times when ive been in a public free roam alone was horrible, people just drive to each other to kill each other and that's all they do. I guess it sucks playing solo and being troll killed over and over.

Im almost tempted to drop you a friend request and let you play with us ZBlacktt, show you how fun it is when you play the game as a group. Almost.

DoomeDx3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

Dude he did not say anything wrong.

Stop being so mean to him dude.

GarrusVakarian3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

@DoomeDx

I'm not being mean, but someone that says he is being troll killed all the time strikes me as someone who doesn't have any friends to play it with and just plays solo with randomers.

-EvoAnubis-3834d ago

Agreed. If it's just me in a public room all by myself, I'll just play something else instead - the trolls ruin things for loners. With a Crew/Friends however, this game is fantastic. Even when the trolls come at that point it's still fun - four of my friends and I spent a good hour killing a troll over and over again all over Blaine County.

Danniel13834d ago

Seriously mate grow up.

SonyWarrior3834d ago

this guy talking in a pedo voice to these little kids is funny he should be banned from online for his pedo activities or at least closly monitored

Elwenil3834d ago

There are solo sessions for a reason. If none of your crew or friends are online, join a solo session from the pause menu and avoid all the trolls and griefers. You can still do missions and join matches with other people but when you go back to freemode, you will be solo again.

3-4-53834d ago

Not everybody has friends who play games. Some of us, our friends don't play games.

And it's not a popularity contest...you must still be in high school.

@zblacktt - get your skills up and stop playing traditional/ aim assisted.
Change your single player aim setting to free aim.
You will then only go into free aim lobbies online - Free mode, missions, TDM etc..

GarrusVakarian3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

Yep, a lot of people don't know that if their singleplayer setting is on auto aim then he will only play online with people who also use auto aim.

Turn it off and you will play with people who actually have skill and don't just insta-headshot you.

Audiggity3833d ago

WHAT!?!?! I never knew that! Seriously. I had it set to auto aim for a specific mission and never changed it because I assumed it was optional (and I might as well get the drop on fools)...

Oh man, this is awesome, changing to free aim first thing tonight.

r1sh123833d ago

@All above.
Yeah its insane rockstar have not put it in the online options.
Ive sent an email to the support team to see whether that can be put in, but COD is numbed everyones ability to play with 100% free aim

Awwwww, this is so adorable! This kid clearly won't have any mental issues when he grows up! I say screw it, get rid of the rating system we have in place and let all little kids play violent games! Hell, all grade-schools should have a class where all you do is play "M" rated games, and gym class should be replaced with watching porn in a dark room! That outta straighten this country out!

@ZBlacktt: Better English please, not broke ass english.

iceman063834d ago

LOL!!! I was thinking...aww how cute...then I realized this was a GTA game. I don't know if the parents were there to supervise or not, but that experience could have been a whole lot worse!!! I personally wouldn't let my kids anywhere near a GTA game until they are at least teenagers (maybe 15 or 16) and proving that they are mature enough to handle the content. But, that isn't my kid...and so it goes.

Salooh3834d ago

It's all in parenting. I have been playing violence games since i was 9 years old. I only had effect with nudity in games. That's why i'm against it. As for violence my parents taught me well of how life works , so nothing will ever change that because i recognise what's right/real and what's wrong/fake.

But i think some kids shouldn't play until they realise reality .

franko3834d ago

...And they all died happily ever after...

DarkLordMalik3834d ago

This comment made me chuckle :D

AllroundGamer3834d ago

so many little kids playing a 18+ game... gets really annoying, since there is no "Mute All" button :/

Pintheshadows3834d ago

I heard a boy on it the other night who couldn't of been older than 8 or 9. Either that or he had been castrated. Parents need to educate themselves and not just cave in to the demands of their spawn.

MysticStrummer3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

I think this game has surpassed CoD in the Most Annoying People On Mic category. I long for an easier way to mute people who think they are funny, that they can sing, or that others want to hear their crappy music. A day or two ago I was in a room with a girl who sounded very young and matched all those characteristics. She was being flirted with by a guy who sounded much older, so it was both irritating and disturbing. On top of all that, their screwing around kept causing us to fail the mission, then they'd vote to restart before the Quit option would appear on my screen. Finally the fourth guy on out "team" managed to finish the mission by himself.

iceman063834d ago

Agreed. I was on a server with my clan and was pretty much harassed and hunted for over 40 minutes because of my race. As soon as he found us, minding our own business by the way, it was the N-word over and over and over. Of course I muted him AND reported him. But, it was just the fact that we pretty much had to stay in missions/races for an hour just to avoid him. We could have tried to switch servers, but they were being particularly silly and this was the first time all might that we were able to group up. (kept saying that one or another of our clan were not online). It just sucks that we had to go through all of that just to have a bit of fun in a video game. Tis life...I guess!?!

PersonMan3834d ago

There is a mute all button. Hold select and choose who you want to hear. It's probably on "everyone" but you can change it to friends or crews

AllroundGamer3834d ago

I selected that from the start to only crew+friends and i still hear everyone... (PS3 version)

PersonMan3834d ago

You have to close the menu to make it take effect.

MajorLazer3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

I was in the unfortunate position of having to play with randoms yesterday, due to all my friends not being able to play Online (cloud issues), and it was awful! I was in a bicycle race yesterday and I won and this teen shouts 'f***ing n***er' to me because I won the race -_-

GarrusVakarian3834d ago

Yeah, i was having cloud issues last night too. But i turned the game off rather than play with the dreaded free roam randomers, lol.

Thar she blows! That be a whale!! Let's talk to them mateys!

phoenixwing26d ago

@disagrees
Didn't have a good rebuttal did you? We all know the select players are whales who waste thousands or hundreds of thousands on the games currency. You expect them to make the same kinds of demands as everyone else? Keep dreaming.

Inverno25d ago

Well that and most likely streamers who have helped harpoon all those whales lolz.

Why is this news? Is this supposed to be some sort of heads up to those involved?

Kombatologist32d ago

Why shouldn't this be news? If you play the game at all, you'd know this has been a problem for a while. Tell me, how is it fair for legit low-level players to be grieved by players using modded accounts with disposable amounts of cash? It's about time Rockstar did something about these losers.

BISHOP-BRASIL32d ago (Edited 32d ago )

Not that I really played it in forever, but the way I used to roll on online once I realize I had no interest in actually doing heists and micromanaging property and shit, the moment someone decided to pick a fight I'd just leave towards north, jump the fence of the army base, steal a jet and grief away... Pro tip: they can't really make you pay for other players cars when you have not one single penny to your name.

EDIT: Got carried away... Anyway, my point was, you can grief without money, this is not stopping it.

Kombatologist31d ago

@BISHOP-BRASIL

I get what you're trying to say, but it's a false equivalence. Anyone could jump the fence and grab a jet back in the day. The dynamic changed once R* started introducing militarized vehicles, such as flying motorcycles with homing rockets, a stealth helicopter, and most recently, a stealth jet. There's so many militarized vehicles now, you really have to keep up with the latest and greatest in order to defend yourself from that shit, which is really expensive to do. Sure, you could make the argument that Shark Cards give players the same advantage as a modded account. The thing is, they don't. Not even close. A modded account can have ANY amount of money, as well as ANY weapon and/or vehicle, even ones that aren't available in the game yet (as long as they're in the datafiles). Some of them even have glitched characters with invisible limbs/weapons. This is an unfair advantage to anyone who plays legitimately and nobody should have to risk getting their accounts permanently banned from stooping to the same level just to compete. Furthermore, making money is really easy to do now. Which begs the question: Why buy a modded account in the first place? I think the answer is obvious.

Petebloodyonion32d ago

So this is news because a Twitter guy says so :)
