BF3's replay value for me easily exceeded the invested ~$110 after premium and the retail game...$110 over 18 months worth of releases is completely acceptable for me...

but...there was plenty of ridiculous gimmicks with BF3...the only stuff of any real value were the expansions (one of which, annoyingly, was already included with my launch edition copy)...but 'exclusive' videos, freakin' exclusive images, strategy guides, etc...were as worthless as the 100 megs of space they took up in the first place...

so i hope premium with bf4 approaches the entire value aspect with a more appropriate view of what we actually want...challenges, goofy mix ups of game modes, and assignments are great...a video that will be leaked within minutes on youtube...is insulting...

my only other complaint...was game updates...which took WAY longer than what i would call remotely acceptable...but from what i understand, thats a console specific thing related to the psn/xbl...and PC never suffered the same issue...I'm on PC this time around, so hopefully the update process is less than a 1/10th as bad...

Imo, the images were to worst.

Yes, I'm paying an additional $50, cause I was dying to get a few more screenshots :/

Neixus3836d ago

simplygames is currently selling a bf4 + premium bundle for 60 euros, go go go

Shakes3836d ago

I completely agree with everything you just said. The "concept art" that was downloadable as our Bonus Content Drop that only happened once every three months was really a slap in the face. I loved BF3, but yeah, the new maps were the ONLY good part of the premium membership.

BF3 doesn't get old for me. I've only played it since June, but I've put more time into it than my past 3 COD games.

BF4 looks like the best bits of BF3, new ideas that couldn't be realized this gen, + good ideas from BF2

Kleptic3836d ago

^agreed...

especially after the change list was posted for release...plenty of little balance changes that were all needed imo...no more lock on rpg's, m320's are no longer nearly as effective against tanks, etc...

i too enjoyed bf3 a lot, even on ps3...while i'm not buying the 'levelution' stuff just yet, i'm excited to see what its like in other maps...the skyscraper falling is cool, but we all know its something to make some impressive trailers...not so much a huge change from a gameplay perspective...

Aka 'if we make enough money initially, then maybe...'

ricochetmg3836d ago

I personally played the beta and im keeping bf3 until i got next gen.

ZodTheRipper3836d ago

This is the nice way of saying no. I'm glad that all maps for Killzone:SF will be free and I'm gladly supporting such a decision by buying more expansive DLC.

Crossbones3836d ago (Edited 3836d ago )

They will probably have to ask EA but knowing EA they will say no.

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot752d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250751d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface751d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop751d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno751d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel752d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps751d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888751d ago (Edited 751d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33751d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888751d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH751d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.

A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.
