Nick talks to J. Kartje about Dark Souls II‘s new enemies, online and systems. Stick around to hear J’s number one tip for players planning on getting the game!
Danish from eXputer: "FromSoftware and Larian Studios have shown that a good workplace environment is what it really takes to make good games."
Danish from eXputer: "FromSoftware's unique approach to difficulty in their games allows players to customize their own experience, which is really cool."
"Souls Like" is a literal genre.
I'd just like to point out that Rise of the Ronin which recently released is in large part a Souls Like as is the upcoming Stellar Blade. And both games have 60 FPS.
More? Like every other game in the last
5 years has “Souls” elements or difficulty. I think we need to pump the brakes a bit Jesus they don’t all the the “grind or die”/“get good” mentality.
Danish from eXputer: "With FromSoftware getting new directors, it might be time for the studio to take a break from its iconic Soulslike games."
Honestly I want more lol. Plenty of different settings, time periods, fantasies, and myths they can still use.
Armored Core and Elden Ring are both different than the Souls formula.
Souls formula: You Will Die. Gothic. Not open world. Punishing difficulty. The feeling that doing is completely on the player.
From software can make as many souls games they want. It's the rest of the industry that needs to stop copying them.
Preparing to die is something that you have to expect on this game. if it's anything like the first game you'll need losts of patience to get through it.
I have never been able to finish any of these games and it would be nice if they add Diablo style coop to help newbs like me.
This is looking great. The new mechanics look like they will ramp-up the death factor LoL, which is all good IMO.
