PS3 has literally destroyed all competetion in these years.not a chance im selling it anytime soon

FamilyGuy3839d ago (Edited 3839d ago )

I'm not liking your use of the word "literally" but I do agree that PS3 is kicking ass, taking names and then giving those names back to other asses they've kicked previously.
Wii and 360 seem to have fallen off the map as far as being supported by exclusives this many years out while the PS3 is still announcing new games with PS4 getting a substantial list of new games announcements at the same time.

Oh wow!
And Birth By Sleep!
And Coded!

I would wait... i suspect Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 will be released on X1 and PS4 before the release of Kingdom Hearts 3.

SoulSercher6203839d ago

If they wanted to they would've announced it a long time ago. Plus the install base of the PS3 is also the reason it'll stay on PS3

another good RPG late in the PS3's lifecycle.

Any hint of this coming to Vita ? Is 1.5 remix PS3 only as well?

What I don't get is if 1.5 HD Remix & 2.5 HD Remix is releasing exclusively on PS3, then why is KH3 being released on PS4 & Xbox One, shouldn't KH3 just be on PS4.

M-M3839d ago

Well, it's probably because the fact that they had an exclusive deal with Sony beforehand. Also, Square Enix knows that the amount of people on next generations platforms are going to be huge, so they decided to release it on both systems to get the game more known and boost sales.

andrewsqual3839d ago

Not really. Xbox 360s numbers worldwide are almost the same as PS3s. Since they are bringing KHIII to Xbox One shouldn't they have brought the HD versions of original games to 360 since they want to get Xbox people into the franchise?
Now the game is going to take longer to make and PS4 version will be hindered and all for a much smaller install base that there is going to be on Xbox One.

Xbox One will never reach the sales that the 360 did. Reasons I say this to back me up:
-The Xbox One is a console that A LOT of people don't want which is bad for sales
-it more than likely won't break as much as 360 did so the numbers of sales won't be inflated like on 360 down to most owners buying multiple 360s over the years
-like with the Wii, the casual market will never fall for the Kinect gimmick again so that is those potential sales gone too.

So why ARE they bringing this to Xbox One???

M-M3839d ago

@andrewsqual

Agreed, they can still cancel the Xbox One release if they wanted to though which I doubt. I'm guessing Microsoft came to them.

Hd collections just sell more on ps3

FamilyGuy3839d ago (Edited 3839d ago )

I was thinking the exact same thing but really it's just a money thing, creating a next gen game is a lot more expensive than making and HD port of a PS2 game. Making KH3 multiplatform gives them a better chance at profiting from the game. The HD PS2 ports are probably profitable before they even reach 100k in sales.

Aside from that maybe Sony owns some portion of the title so it can't go to Xbox or maybe it's because it's more japan focused and Xbox isn't doing to well there. The Metal Gear collections didn't release on the 360 either yet MGS V is going to the X1.

On a different note:
Seeing this game and how good it looks for a PS2 emphasizes my desire of wanting a PS Vita Tv. This game is dated but looks good, PS Vita game are already higher quality than PS2 games so seeing them on the big screen shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

It's hard not to be a fan of Sonys game division at a time like this.

iMaim3839d ago

Square doesn't have the luxury of making games exclusive anymore. You can blame FFXIV for that.

thejigisup3839d ago

Can you elaborate on that?

TheLyonKing3839d ago

I wouldn't worry about it, there not going to be a massive difference if any between x1 and ps4 for kh3 if kh 3 was being released for ps3 and 360 I would have been slightly worried.

AsimLeonheart3839d ago (Edited 3839d ago )

I agree. I do not think Xbone owners will buy it anyway. They prefer Forza, Gears, Titanfall and Halo; basically multiplayer games. JRPGs do very poorly on Xbox. Just look at the sales ratio of FFXIII-2 on Xbox360 and PS3. I thought that would be a good lesson for SquareEnix but I guess they are too greedy to give up a few hundred thousand sales for the sake of quality and focus.

Because KH is Disney, and Disney is popular or known with everyone, even Microsoft fans.

OmegaShen3839d ago

Not shock, just hope this is like the Final Mix that Japan got. Because Japan got parts of the story that wasn't in the US one.

Snookies123839d ago

They did say Final Mix under both KH2 and BBS. So yes, both include everything from the Japanese versions. Kingdom Hearts 2 in particular has so much more to it. All those amazing extra boss fights are a ton of fun on Critical difficulty lol.

OmegaShen3839d ago

Yeah, but I know how some developers are. They use the name but not the same stuff in the game.

Its like Turtles In Time HD (it was nothing like the old one), I just want the fully story and all the bosses Japan got.

I hope this one comes in a nice case like the last one did.

1/2, Birth by Sleep, and Dream drop distance skip the rest.

Double_O_Revan1920d ago

Chain of Memories and 358/2 have a lot of important stuff that lead into KH2. Otherwise you'll be Really lost at beginning of 2. You can easily find a videos of all the cutscenes of both games so you dont have to play through them all the way.

Pyrofire951919d ago

Wouldn't actually say Chains is necessary before going into 2 since you know just as much as Sora. While I do like a lot from 358/2, aside from a few things it's mostly world/character building Days came out after 2 anyway and would take a lot of mystery away. Maybe I'm just trying to simulate how I experienced the story but in that case I actually started playing 2 first lol. Cutscenes should be sufficient for sure.

Pyrofire951919d ago

I'd through 0.2 in there as well just cause it's so short and has a decent amount of information. What the hell did Mickey mean?

How seven mysteries help games develop worlds

There are certain recurring themes people can expect from video games intended to build ambiance, especially in RPGs. No sooner do you enter a new area or attend a new academy, then someone lets slip there are seven unsolved mysteries to discover. Inevitably, the main story or an extended series of sidequests sends you looking after each one. However, people may not realize exactly how extensive this story element is and why it is such a valuable inclusion in games.
