Zelda's Aonuma discusses the dangers of games that help too much

Polygon "Aonuma, the longtime producer of the Legend of Zelda franchise, was the host and star of Nintendo's lone panel at New York Comic Con 2013. As he was introduced and came up to the dais, the packed room gave him a sustained ovation, and his talk itself was interrupted by applause almost as much as a State of the Union address."

It's good to hear that he's acknowledging some of the feedback from Skyward Sword. It had some of the most obnoxious hand-holding I have ever seen in a game.

Remember every new session of play having to mash A through the text when you caught a bug?
Then you caught another species and had to sit through it again...
I loved that game, but God damn!

SS certainly wasn't a hard game, but i wonder what games you are comparing it too, most games today are eays as pie

Bimkoblerutso3844d ago (Edited 3844d ago )

It wasn't the difficulty. It was constantly being treated like an idiot. Go here, do this, do that, no, you can't go there yet, hey where are you going, you're not supposed to be here, there is a 99.9% chance that you are going the right/wrong way...

Not to mention the fact that Nintendo thought we were so stupid that we would forget what a grasshopper was between play sessions.

Not that other games don't it too, but in Skyward Sword it was so in-your-face and obnoxious that it really tarnished what was otherwise an awesome game.

I'm so very happy to hear him say this. So very happy.

This why I could not get in to Uncharted, the game was too linear.....other games are linear too, but its not the only reason I did not like it, but I do have a great dislike for linear games....but I would still try them.....my favorite sony linear game is Heavenly Sword I hope they make part 2 because I do not like God of War I hope the series die this generation and I think it will....last God of War did not sell well so this means Sony may try Heavenly Sword again and see if people prefer that game instead

I will be there, will be my third time going to nycc.

Already reserved the deluxe edition of the game, just waiting for it to be downloadable then unlocked.

I like this game...but....ngl seeing alot news about costumes for promotional work is not exciting.

neomahi204d ago

....... How is it exclusive when the game is only on PS5? That's a rather liberal use of the word and really takes away from what it represents. Exclusive is just a word now, it used to actually mean something. Once timed-exclusive came about, it lost its pop

BlaqMagiq1204d ago

I think they mean as in never before seen anywhere Spider-Man related and will debut in the game.

CobraKai204d ago

Could be this. It’s the only explanation. Or the reveal itself is a Con exclusive?

Was there a comic-con suit in the last game? I could be wrong, but it was a cel-shaded (at least I think that’s the one) and it was one of my favorite suits to use.

I welcome all these suits! Hope there’s even more! I enjoyed switching out suits throughout the last game.
