It’s Official, Troy Baker Kills as the Joker

Junkie Monkeys: During a Batman: Arkham Origins Comic Con panel Troy Baker decided to flex his voice acting skills once again. The following video was taken by a guest who attended the panel, and if Mark Hamill were to see this, we think he would be very proud.

Good replacement. Sounds just like Mark Hamill, and that's exactly as the Joker should sound.

Ezz20133841d ago (Edited 3841d ago )

yeah the sound is very close
Tory Baker is really good at what he do

but no one will ever be as good as Mark Hamill when it come to the Joker
and KC as Batman voice

3-4-53840d ago

If it's anything near Mark Hamill then it will be good.

aCasualGamer3840d ago

He sounds absolutely phenomenal as the Joker, really great. Just as Hamill but his own twist to it.

But... I've always wanted a darker Joker, a darker version of the myth. I'm ofcourse speaking of John DiMaggio. What i wouldn't do to see that man voice Joker in the next batman.

PurpHerbison3840d ago (Edited 3840d ago )

I think it's above average though.

Back-to-Back3840d ago

I dont understand why ppl want him to do a 100% exact copy of hamill. If anything he adds a new twist to the voice of the joker and I like it.

ChrisW3840d ago

To me it sounds like a mix between Mark Hamill and Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving).

I really like it!

Hicken3840d ago

Because Hamill's version is, essentially, the definitive version. You don't mess with perfection.

TopDudeMan3840d ago

I thought they were gonna struggle to find another voice actor for the joker. But he knocked that out the park!

-Foxtrot3841d ago

I don't think he's that good as The Joker to be honest, rather have Mark Hamill

Treezy5043841d ago

No one could ever replace Mark Hamill, but I think he perfectly imitated Hamill's Joker.

-Foxtrot3841d ago (Edited 3841d ago )

I just don't see it to be honest, I think I've spent too much time growing up hearing Mark Hamill to be honest.

He just has one of those voices that are a perfect fit for the character.

I hope he returns for Rocksteadys game if it's Batman

Anyway just my opinion btw

SilentNegotiator3840d ago

"I think he perfectly imitated Hamill's Joker"

Sans the laugh, yes. But it's still a great laugh. This guy will make a great joker.

vork773840d ago

if you heard injustice joker that is pretty close

Pintheshadows3841d ago

I understand your views but I think you may need to grieve and move on. Mark Hamill was amazing but he isn't the only Joker.

HeavenlySnipes3841d ago

He sounded almost exactly like Hamil

-Foxtrot3841d ago

That's exaggerating it a lot

Enemy3841d ago (Edited 3841d ago )

^ Not nearly as exaggerating as the way you let nostalgia cloud your judgment. This guy is an incredible voice actor, and he sounds so much like Mark Hamill, in some ways better, that it's actually dumb to think he wouldn't be a good Joker when he already is.

-Foxtrot3841d ago (Edited 3841d ago )

@Enemy

I'm not I'm just stating my opinion, don't go to insults please and try to twist it around to make my opinion look small.

" guy is an incredible voice actor "

...when did I say he wasn't ? I'm not saying he's a bad voice actor, he's good but I just don't think the Joker is like Mark Hamills or much close to him, I've seen the trailers to Batman Origins and he doesn't sound much like him in MY opinion. It's better going off the trailers then a crappy video like this where it's all echo-like.

Are you actually judging the voice by whats coming out of his mouth or just "Troy Baker" in general because it looks like a lot of people here are doing the latter

kenshiro1003840d ago (Edited 3840d ago )

Foxtrot, are you kidding? Seriously...?
I thought that was amazing. That brought me back to my childhood right away.

SoulSercher6203841d ago

Troy Baker comes VERY close to sounding like Mark Hamill and I've grown up listening to Hamill's voice ever since the very beginning of The Animated Series.

optimus3840d ago (Edited 3840d ago )

this new joker is pretty damn close to mark hamill's joker and that's better than getting someone that would give it an entirely different tone ala' the new splinter cells and metal gears.

optimus3840d ago (Edited 3840d ago )

@Foxtrot...deducting 5 points for the overuse of the phrase "to be honest". i never understood why people actually say that as if to say they are dishonest under the circumstance...(it's a pet peeve of mine, as well as people saying "in my opinion"- well who's opinion would it be if it's not yours?? do you normally speak for the rest of the world in your everyday life??)...anyhow...

this new voice actor does a very good job keeping it close to what we are all used to...i don't think they would have given him the job if he didn't.

BigDollarZoe9543840d ago (Edited 3840d ago )

was pretty good imo close enough its not Mark i know if you could do better give it a try voice acting looks tough otherwise Troy Baker a good Joker

JackStraw3840d ago

he sounds literally exactly like him. stop.

overrated443840d ago

You should probably get used to being disappointed then because Hamill has retired himself from the Joker role, and it's pretty doubtful that he is coming back.

Wow, the more I see of Origins the more I am looking forward to it. I know it isn't Rocksteady but WB Games seems to be hitting all the right notes. Can't wait.

The best Batman Arkham game still isn’t on PS5, and that’s a problem

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is almost here, but I can't revisit the best Arkhamverse game on PS5 without sacrificing quality.

Not a fan of Orgins. Blame it on the absence of Conroy & Hamill. Blame it on the lack of atmosphere compared to Asylm. Hell blame it the devs thst dicked over Wii U owners like me that purchased the game only for support be dropped as a thank you to me. It's better than Knight but that's not saying much. I don't care for that entry either.

Rebel_Scum95d ago

tbh buying a game like that for WiiU should’ve been an obvious non-purchase when it existed on better hardware.

Cacabunga95d ago

Origins is amazing..
my favorite Batman is Batman and Robin on mega drive.. an HD REMASTER of that would still look glorious

ZeekQuattro94d ago

I got it launch. Kinda hard to go back. I'm supposed to know they were going to drop support months after the fact. 🤣

Exvalos95d ago

You sound like a salty fanboy, that it didn't come to your precious plastic of choice. It's not the developers fault Nintendo continues making underpowered hardware. It's our fault because we keep buying it. Yes I say (we) I'm part of the problem as well.

ZeekQuattro94d ago

I have a PS3 and a Wii U. How was I a salty fanboy? I bought the game on the system I wanted it for.

Rebel_Scum94d ago

Nah my comment has nothing to do with whether you’d know or not that they’d drop support.

Buying any AAA game of that era for a WiiU you should’ve known you’d be sacrificing graphics and load times.

LucasRuinedChildhood95d ago

It's solid but Origins is definitely not the best Arkham game.

LoveSpuds94d ago

Smacks of hyperbole to me, talk about clutching at straws to create some drama around PS5!!

generic-user-name94d ago

Titles like these are designed to get you to come in, go to their comment section and tell them how they're so wrong so they can boost their numbers.

Phoenix7695d ago

Even though its not the best arkham game in the series, its still an enjoyable game in its own right. What it do really well at though, was the crime investigations scenes. Which imo, were the best of the franchise.

goldwyncq95d ago

I don’t know about best game but it definitely has the best story and boss fights.

boing195d ago

Never played it and recently I've finally tried it via cloud on psn. It's not the best for sure, but it ain't bad either.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Open World Busy Work that Doesn't Hold Up 10 Years Later

Batman: Arkham Origins launched 10 years ago today, and sadly doesn't stand the test of time as well as its predecessors.

Petebloodyonion176d ago

I fail to grasp why this title is worse compared to Arkham City (according to the article) as the author didn't provide any argument to explain why aside from that it felt the bigger map compared to Arkham Asylum made the experience less tight.
More importantly, the author seems like he never played Arkham City since he described the game as linear (alongside Asylum).

I will be there, will be my third time going to nycc.

Already reserved the deluxe edition of the game, just waiting for it to be downloadable then unlocked.

Huey_My_D_Long200d ago

I like this game...but....ngl seeing alot news about costumes for promotional work is not exciting.

neomahi200d ago

....... How is it exclusive when the game is only on PS5? That's a rather liberal use of the word and really takes away from what it represents. Exclusive is just a word now, it used to actually mean something. Once timed-exclusive came about, it lost its pop

BlaqMagiq1200d ago

I think they mean as in never before seen anywhere Spider-Man related and will debut in the game.

CobraKai200d ago

Could be this. It’s the only explanation. Or the reveal itself is a Con exclusive?

Was there a comic-con suit in the last game? I could be wrong, but it was a cel-shaded (at least I think that’s the one) and it was one of my favorite suits to use.

I welcome all these suits! Hope there’s even more! I enjoyed switching out suits throughout the last game.
