Nice to hear them actually acknowledge this, but its getting increasingly frustrating. The worst thing for me is being split up from crew members and it taking ages for lobbies to fill up.

The fact its so fun when it works only makes it more infuriating when it doesn't.

I was able to play last night with 2 buddies with no problem, but it was around 11a.m. Pacific

GarrusVakarian3852d ago

Been playing ok since Tuesday but today it has gone a little f'd up for me so im just gonna leave it for today most likely. Don't wanna risk my character being deleted.

n4rc3852d ago

had to delete the title update and create another character to get passed the first race on day 2.

was playing without issue since... made it up to lvl 14 without replaying missions as many abused.. probably 20h in since...

and yesterday was fine... actually had the crew on and we played for hours straight... jumped off to make some dinner and came back..

cloud servers are unavailable... then got a message saying connection was restored so i tried again...

annnnnd profile deleted... gone everywhere except the social club crew page..

it still shows my stats including the 100k+ RP i had earned... but showing 0 and level 1 everywhere else

Just get your group of friends and create a private friends only or crew only game. That's what I do, then you don't have to worry about depositing cash right away or any assholes interrupting your game. I use assholes loosely (no pun intended) because being in a lobby of 15 other randoms killing each other is part of the game any fun sometimes.

From campaign pause the game scroll to online and login it will give you a few options of private/solo, crew only, friends only etc...

GarrusVakarian3852d ago

Yeah, that's what we have been doing. But as soon as you decide to go into matchmaking, that's where the problems arise.

I've been playing the solo sessions and havent had any issues.

Im fine playing solo, ranking up and earning money (robbing fools) until R* fixes the issues

ZBlacktt3852d ago

Even worse is they are running out of time. One month before the Master Race winner drops. Then it's all over, lol.

Devilbringer3853d ago

i'm one of those victim's, sadly 14 hours just went down to hell

monkey6023852d ago

I dont know whats worse. I cant even get 14 minutes in nevermind hours

duli143852d ago

I've lost about 3 characters and 16 hours of progress as well. My advice is DON'T continue when you get the error message saying rockstar cloud servers are down. Wait a few hours and try again. I've been doing that the last few times I connected and my character is level 15 now, and haven't lost anything.

Just lost mine... About 8h down the drain...

Pretty sad given the expectations were known forever.. The game was delayed forever.. The held back the online to prepare while making record amounts of money...

And this is what we get.... I have little hope of them doing anything about it

moodymofo3852d ago

with just a little over a month till the ps4 release im losing my patients with this game im gettin ready to turn it in while i can still get a nice price for it

bloodybutcher3852d ago

what? he is a doctor and gta 5 is taking his patients away. what's so funny?:P

From my experience, people loosing their characters is due to the character not loading all the way with rank etc. (happened to me). What I did is turn my console off and get back on and my character loaded all the way. If you join a session with your character at level 1, DO NOT DO ANY MISSIONS, the auto save will save over your previous rank and stick you with a character at level 1. Just quit GTA Online till your character fully loads from the cloud. Worked for me. As for the loss of money, you loose upwards of 2300$ Each time you die while doing a mission. I think that's excessive.

EdoubleD3852d ago

It does, it took me a couple of tries and it worked out.

This was on PS3.

Gobbyer3852d ago

Yeah. This works. Didn't see my character in character selection screen so i played singleplayer for a while and tried online after a while and poof! My character came back from clouds. Just dont create a new character so the old one wont be overwritten. Sure it sucks to lose all the progression if you create a new character, but you wont lose the good fun times and moments doing it. :3

The new issue is now.. you cannot play any activities, or missions. It was working fine in the afternoon though.

Not sure whats going on now.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing692h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder
