FIFA 14 (360, PS3, PC) review | InsideTheBox

It’s the end of September again, which means it is time for the latest FIFA release, this year’s being FIFA 14. I thoroughly enjoyed my playing of FIFA 14 for review, and, although not usually the biggest fan of football, I plan to spend more time with the game this year than I usually do, primarily due to the range of game modes which piqued my interest.

I love Fifa & PES but neither game is anywhere near a 9.8

Apologies about this, the score was incorrectly typed in both the review and this listing by the person who published the article. When I told them the score to add to the article for my review, they misread it, and entered a 9.8, sorry about that. An 8.8 was intended, but, after reconsidering and playing for a longer period, I will bump it to a 9.

gameplay in PES is better more realistic everything else with the game sucks..Fifa has depth but characters are lacking look like plastic.. 9.8 u must be smoking crack

I personally didn't find the graphics being anywhere near that bad, they looked fine to me. You may be doing by the demo (I don't know if you tried the full game) but it has much improved from its performance.

The gameplay modes are great, and a lot of effort has gone into expanding them. PES is very, very skimpy on modes. Graphics in FIFA, I don't think are the biggest concern, especially with fans. The most important aspects are the physics (which are getting better and better), the game mode options (which offer outstanding value for money, even more having been added this year) and the overall mechanics, behaviour and even down to the menu music, as people get tired of the songs often.

I felt that, for a current generation game, what EA Sports have managed to do is impressive. Graphics in the game are not all that important, in my opinion anyway, so, the rating mainly came from the physics, the game modes and the improvements.

It is all just my opinion, feel free to have yours, but, in my opinion, the game deserves the 9 (score corrected as one of the people who help on the site incorrectly filled in the scores on both the review, and this post, as explained above).

so if the players looked like stick people it would be ok to play just as long as the ball physics and everything else is good? dude we're in 2013 the graphics better look damn good and honestly it does not.. maybe it's the player ID that PES has that makes me think so but step it up EA 9.0 yeah not 9.8 common

Obviously I do not mean stick people. I mean the improvement in graphics based on FIFA 13. I do not feel it was of major importance to fans of the series, especially on the current gen consoles. The game looks stunning on next generation, so, I felt the current generation was improved as much as possible while still using the current generation engine. There is only a certain amount you can improve.

I stand by the 9/10 score, the graphics are good (not great) but I don't feel it is a big aspect of this game, so, the graphics didn't have a huge influence. As I mentioned, the 9.8 was a typo, that definitely IS too high a score.
