Gold Spamming Damaging The Final Fantasy XIV Community

Gold spamming is a billion dollar industry so it’s no surprise to see the infection spread to every new MMO that hits the shelves. That trend proves true with the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as practically every area you explore is spammed literally every few seconds

I left FF14 because of it and SE is getting back to me in a couple days once they review my account to judge if I get my 90 days subscription fee back.

Edit: Also my blacklist is also fill 200/200 and I'm still being spammed as in "Send Tell" even though all the "Yell" and "Shout" were filtered to off(which gets rid out a lot). I also reported every single one on my Blacklist. So its not like I can keep blacklisting more until something is solved.

It's mildly annoying yes, but I doubt anyone has ever quit an mmo due to gold spam. You included.

Myself and a couple friends have(now you know of 3 ppl who quit from RMT), likely would have continued playing if we could at least continue blacklisting them but are blacklists are full and the yell and shouts are disabled and we are still getting spammed like crazy. It seems very much like its out of control. The fact the spammers now even send tells to you is even worst. We would think that FF14 as a paid service they would be doing a better job at blocking them. The article had a few good ideas like blocking .coms or blocking people who send the same repeated message.

This was all are 1st mmo as well game. We are not sure what the RMT is like in other games. We didn't even know what a RMT was before this game we all loved the beta and at the beginning when we didn't deal with the 1017 error. Learned a lot about group battling and roles along other things. FF14 is a good game and we all like it.

Here is my lodestone and I last played on the 26th not sure if the public can see it or not and the free trail is not even done yet we all have quit. I also haven't even beat the game, just dropped it, due to the spammers

Other mmos have a limit to the number of times you can message
. I've seen seen the chat get spammed like 20 times in under a min by the same person.

Not every but most do but you would think needing to buy the game and or sign up for sub would be enough to stop them.

they should do it like Guild wars 2, you can shout a couple of times in a row, after that you are blocked, also they have a report and they work fast, doing this should limit if not remove most of this gil sellers

It usually happens the moment I log on, and the worst part is I've blacklisted about over 50 of them, and only two of them have had their accounts deleted.
