I always thought that suda51 games were overrated because they always had subpar graphics and gameplay. I think suda51 is so popular for being weird, so his games appeal to those who think that a level referencing alice in wonderland makes them unique gamers and not mainstream.

Suda51 has a cult following because his games are always very stylistic. And if there's one thing about weaboos that is very messed up is that they like anything Japanese based on looks alone.

My enthusiasm was killed for Suda51 a long time ago

Well in my opinion I thought the game was really good, coming a close second to Contact and Shadows Of the Damned. The story was weird but not that hard to grasp.

Slight spoilers:
It's about an assassination agency hired by the government to kill freaks and weirdos that couldn't be dealt with by conventional means. Mondo Zappa, the amnesiac protagonist, was the next in line due to his mentor's betrayal however after taking his life, the following jobs slowly start to reveal not only his past but the source of all of the strange occurrences, the moon.

Moon River, appears to be an alien from the moon and visited the earth regularly to see Mondo. The government sent an agent
to her home planet after discovering that there was life there but ran into another item called "Dark Matter" which changes humans into monster over time while granting them power.

I don't want to explain the WHOLE game because it would take longer than the time I have available but I got all of that through one playthrough and I am going to play again to make sure I haven't missed anything out or to correct my perception.

The game is a 7 out of 10 the most and doesn't deserve anything under that because it was solid, looked good but didn't really bring anything new to the table of hack and slash. This game doesn't deserve points docked from it because of sexism because many big titles reveal much more yet but because of whose backing them, judgement is given a blind eye.

In the end he creates games for his niche fanbase only and that's not a bad thing if he gains a steady profit from it.

But Suda51 didnt create Killer Is Dead. Only let his name to it...

sypher3857d ago

Yeh but that really has nothing to do with how the game plays. He was always the lead on his other actual titles that he and the team made.

And how much of it he actually wrote we dont know. He was used more as a marketing tool in order to sell the game

Knushwood Butt3857d ago

Sure, but about 1/3 of this garbage article complains about the writing.

As someone else commented, 'This article is completely pointless. Couldn’t you have just tweeted this? You don’t need more than 140 characters to simply say you didn’t like the game.'.

Peerless?

I’ve always heard his games have repetitive portions. I appreciate unique and creative games, but repetition dilutes even the greatest games (ie Arkham Asylum).

Shadows of the damned was pretty wild. That and lollipop chainsaw are the only ones ive played but I’d give it to SoTD.

Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw are my favorites

He should. Although I'd like to see something new from him. Or how about Shadows of the Damned 2?

Abriael1430d ago

Well, he is making No More Heroes 3.
