You can actually run out of gas in GTA V

From flip flops, to back sweat, Grand Theft Auto V is just incredibly detailed, especially for an open world title. But did you know that you can actually run out of gas driving? YouTuber WackyWhiteys shows us how you can actually pop the gas tank and make the car leak fuel leading the car to eventually stop completely. It's stunning to say the least.

The cars can also get wonky at time haha though i never drove the same car long enough to actually run out of gas.

the car doesnt just run out of gas. If some one shoots your gas tank you start to leak a line of gas and you will eventually stop, and usually blow up. Ive had this happen a few times with 5 stars so I thought everyone knew this. Im pretty sure in one of the missions you shoot the gas thats leaking from some ones tank.

I wish they would have put gas stations and cars would have different limits in distance like real cars before they ran out of gas, cause I think it would have made the game more challenging. Or have it as an option

I agree with the option. Like what Fallout NV done with their Hardcore mode. It would have given the game a different feel to it. Not a massive change but enough to add a slight change of pace.

I discovered this at the same exact spot as were he started the video. I was playing as Trevor and I saw a drug deal gone wrong at that hill top. I went down the hill and some Asian guy said to not pick up the suitcase that was laying in the ground.

I did and I took one of the cars from one of the 6 or so corpses laying in the ground. Long story short, one of the cars had its gas tank shot and after a while it ran out of gas.

When I'm feeling homocidal with Trevor I block off an intersection and pour gas all around it and make a little trail off to the side. Needless to say, fireworks ensue. The little details make this game amazing.

Yep. This happened to me last week. Stole an Army truck then when I went back into vinewood it spluttered and came to a stop. I got out and saw the trail behind me.
