Sucker Punch Talks Replacing Cole MacGrath With Delsin Rowe in inFamous: Second Son

When inFamous: Second Son releases on the PS4 in February 2014, it will see series star Cole MacGrath being replaced with Delsin Rowe, and the game taking place 7 years after the events of inFamous 2. Following the reveal of Second Son, Sucker Punch detailed how Cole wouldn’t be returning, with the developers ultimately going this route after seeing the trophy data for inFamous 2, where 78% of people chose to sacrifice Cole

heck yeah i want to see zeke,he is the only character from the past that can show up, and i will miss cole, but when you think about it a new protagonist actually makes a lot of sense for this game, and at least theres a reason to have one instead of forcing the new guy in like DMC4 or prototype 2 which made no sense t all.

Goku7813861d ago (Edited 3861d ago )

I agree and disagree with you. I Like closure from my games, I think Infamous did it perfect, told a story through two games, then closed it. Infamous Second Son, new story with new protagonist carrying it on. For me, I loved both Prototypes and really want them to finish the story. Devil May Cry 4 was still better than than that DMC crap last year. Starting over with a Dante that wasn't Dante was not cool. Imagine if Mega Man wasn't Meg..... wait, that might work ;)

crxss3861d ago

I'm still hoping to see Cole or @ least mentions of him throughout the game

pr0t0typeknuckles3861d ago

Oh I agree I need closure, prototype 2 ended so abruptly, the real DMC hasnt had a decent conclusion due to that atrocity that is DmC ,and for me personally the 2008 prince of Persia game that ended on 2 cliffhangers, and now that I think about it assassins creed 3 ended abruptly but thats no surprise, lol

Brix903861d ago

Off topic but I'm still waiting for another Megaman Legends game.

Ezz20133861d ago

you are right
but i will miss cole alot and the good ending

Spoiler alert:

lead me that he's not dead when there was lighting at the end and i want to see zeke as well

Joe9133861d ago

I agree I think they could have brought him back to finish the trilogy but I think he is alive but maybe turning into the big monster so I think no matter which ending you do in part 2 he becomes the villain for Delsin.

MizTv3861d ago

We'll since time travel is a big part of the story could we see Kessler?
I think he could be a big part of the story still

Conzul3861d ago

Uh, Kessler and Cole are the same person, just in different time-periods.

MizTv3861d ago

Dude I know that!
But what's to say Kessler didn't do things in this time before he showed up in the first game?
Get it?

Are_The_MaDNess3861d ago

i kinda feel its bad that they followed the evil route from inFamous 2.
but i guess there wont be much of a game if the followed the good ending eh?

!!!SPOILER------SPOILER!!!

in the good ending you saw a lightning strike the boat Cole was on after you know what happend, wonder if he made it or not.....

/!!!SPOILER------SPOILER!!!

FrostyZipper3861d ago

Um, they followed the Good ending. It says right on the preview paragraph that far more people chose to be good rather than evil and finished the game as such. The RFI didn't kill every conduit, just the closest ones. It's a pretty BS handwave imo but provided they deliver (and it's looking pretty likely that they will) I think I'll get over it.

Are_The_MaDNess3861d ago

they did? think i heared in an video interview once that they did the bad ending....... tho the guy was really stressed out at the time....
maybe i just remember it wrong.....

tho he might be back tho, cole i mean. if you see the lighting right before the credits and such (tho it might just be for show....)

FrostyZipper3861d ago

@Are
Perhaps he may. Personally I don't think SP should bring him back. Man died a hero, and I think bringing him back would cheapen his sacrifice immeasurably.

I'd very much like to see Zeke in inFamous 2, perhaps helping out innocent Conduits or something. Hell I'd even take a five second cameo appearance.

LeoDDestroyer3861d ago

Well in the trailer when he takes the neon power they do a little flash vision thing which shows someone standing in cloak at the end of it.

WeAreLegion3861d ago

If his idea for a sequel to the other ending is better, I hope they do it at some point.

Are_The_MaDNess3861d ago

too much work IMO. and it wouldnt make a story even......since noone would have powers.

Ashunderfire863861d ago

Maybe at the end of Second Son, there will be a unexpected return of Cole saying," I'm back." Just like this from the Pirates of the Carribbean movies.

I'm hoping for some alternate skins (ideally one that shows no skin at all, mask, gloves etc) I love how they do that in the arkham games... I'll def picking this game up regardless... its looking incredible!

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM102d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck101d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati101d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos101d ago (Edited 101d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88133d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183132d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie132d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
