I cant believe he forgot L.A Noire

Nitrowolf23865d ago (Edited 3865d ago )

It was published by Rockstar, but developed by Tea Bondi, whereas GTA is developed by sub divisions of Rockstar As much as I would love to see a new one, I'm unsure of that possibility given the cost to produce it

They still got other IP's like Bully, Red Dead, And Agent (being the only new IP there)

GrizzliS19873865d ago

yea when i saw that hint of Agent in the license place of GTA V car, im not almost positive its in development

joab7773865d ago

I loved LA Noire. But hopefully the next one is a true open world game with a focused narrative.

Anyway...they can do what ever they want but open world it must be. Next gen systems and specs would definitely afford them the opportunity to show how gta v just scratched the surfave of open world. Maybe some type of mmo may be my guesa with gta online being almost like a beta run. Imagine a rockstar mmo set in a huge open world of some type. They can keep adding cities. Maybe gta and los santos is only the beginning.

MorbidPorpoise3865d ago

Would love another Manhunt.. but don't really see it even happening.

mark134uk3865d ago

totally agree i loved that game cant wait for a second 1

nick3093865d ago

Nah, every gta is a new ip considering you never play as characters from past games. I believe rockstar shouldn't make a new ip yet.

strotee3865d ago

I disagree. Every GTA game is NOT a new IP. Same name = same IP IMO, whether characters return or not.

0ut1awed3865d ago (Edited 3865d ago )

Hmm going of exactly what you said means a lot of games are brand new IPs. Killzone 2, Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Halo Reach, Far Cry 3, every Battlefield game, Fallout New Vegas, Bioshock 2 and Infinite, all the Rainbow Six games, all of the Elder Scroll games, all the Need for Speed games, all the Forza games, all the Gran Turismo games, all the Dirt games, Assassin's Creed games, etc.

That's just the first few that come to mine. See how that logic starts to fall apart?

nick3093865d ago

Yes i agree, lol. I wonder what rockstar has in their mind for a new ip . I wanna see agent.

Kuse3865d ago

I agree, Rockstar needs to take a step back from the GTA series, I mean don't get me wrong there are many aspects of GTA5 I love but the story is kinda stale to be honest, its sortof cliche and unoriginal and highly predictable.

gameseveryday3865d ago

ye sure. A series that does 1 billion dollar business in 3 days needs to put into rest.

Ye,really :\

SuperLupe3865d ago

We only had 2 GTA's this gen.

NukaCola3865d ago

3 to include Chinatown Wars which is amazing BTW.

aPerson3865d ago

It's been five years since GTA4. FIVE YEARS! In those five years, Rockstar Games has released:

- Midnight Club: Los Angeles
- Red Dead Redemption
- L.A. Noire
- Max Payne 3

They did step back and gave GTA a break - and now they're returning to it. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Golden_Mud3865d ago

Actually they announce a new GTA game every 3 to 5 years

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing692d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos2d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius1d 22h ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy852d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius1d 22h ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all

Ex-Rockstar Dev Finally Explains Why Small Planes Randomly Crashed in GTA San Andreas

Former Rockstar Games Technical Director Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed why some planes would randomly crash in GTA: San Andreas.

Profchaos19d ago

This fly by feature was on the cutting room floor due to the random plane crashes and it's one of those things I'm so thankful made it into the final version as these random fly by and crashes make the world seem more alive on the extremely limited PS2 hardware you needed everything you could possibly get in a open world to convey that feeling.

And accross hundreds of hours of gameplay I probably died around 3 times as a result of these fly by failures but I loved every time it happened

isarai19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

It made the world feel more human, and honestly kinda insane that even today with all these open world games, almost no one can capture that like R* even when compared to their ps2 games

Skuletor18d ago

Lol, I remember those. I vaguely remember dying from one crashing into my car once too.
