The PlayStation 3 Wasn’t Ready For Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Yeah, it IS quite horrible to grind FATES on a ps3. The Black Shroud is bad, but Coerthas is even wrost. That Svara fight? Sometimes Svara will show up only when he is killed. Is also bad in Bluefog. Should you play on a ps3, you have to get use to a lonely experience, since the game works better in the emptier places. Everytime I face a trent, the fps will drop drastically as well, no matter if I'm in a full party or completely alone in the area...

It's a game killer if you ask me. I hope it will be better on ps4 - I hope it will be on paiir with the pc experience.

SE have said the PS4 version will be indistinguishable from the PC version. So there's some good news.

However I own both versions of this game and the PS3 version definitely doesn't look as good at the PC version. As well as when there are lots of people/mobs in the same area it has a harder time loading as many people on the screen at once.

However I myself haven't had any framerate issues, or lack of mobs showing up. Especially boss mobs.

Maybe they are isolated issues that only a select few are experiencing?

I don't think it is a isolated issue. If you google it, you will see that there's a LOT of complaint coming from the ps3 side of things.

Hmm... I wonder then. I guess you could still technically call it isolated, as it seems not everyone is experiencing these issue. Myself being one of the fortunate ones.

However that sucks for users like you who have to deal with these kinds of issues.

The Issues only appear in FATEs with a high amount of people. SE is working on making mobs appear before PCs essentially fixing this problem.

Sorry for what probably is a dumb question, but making the mobs appear before PC's? Like in ps3 mobs appearing before pc players mobs? If that's it, how in the world can that be done? Or maybe does PCs stand for something else?

@Dmd PCs stands for Player Characters which is the other people actually playing the game. Hopefully that helps haha

Have you done Svara FATE already? Or any lvl 40-50 fate? Doesn't your fps drop down when you fight Trents neither? Should your answer be yes yes and no, than I really don't know what to say, cause every single ps3 player I've met on the internet have problems in those situations. Like every single one of them. You being the first one who says otherwise. Well, if so, maybe that's a good thing. Maybe it can be fixed.

Honestly he is NOT a troll. Maybe you're lucky enough to have a smooth experience with your ps3 version of the game, but should you do your research before comment and point fingers, you will find out that there are a lot of ps3 owners who have the very same issues that he mentioned in his article - me included.

That is NOT why, SE just isn't making anyone buy the game twice. The people that bought the original FF14 were able to download A realm Reborn for FREE.

Quit trolling.

SE is only concerned with having subscribers, they might lower the game cost to $20 by the time the PS4 version is out. It's an online game with a paid monthly subscription, getting and keeping subscribers is all that matters, it's where they'll make most of their money.

Too many issues with fates means its broken. Its just that simple.
No real way to fix it so if you want a better version just get a ps4 and your set!
I would gladly eat my words if they fix it (win/win in my book) but, ps3 owners who do not move over will be left with an unfinished product...

In all reality the client should be a one time purchase and you can use it on any available platform. I think it's silly to have to rebuy the client on different platforms to access the same servers etc.

As much as I would like to agree with you I just cant.

This idea sounds nice. However you have to think that the client on different platforms are exactly that, different. Thus they required their own budget, coding, development time etc. It costs them money to make a game available on more than one platform. So if you want to play a game with the same account you can. However you need to pay for the files essential to play it on the platform you wish.

Think about it like this then:

Those other games that are offering the $10 upgrade are $60 games to begin with. FF14 Arr is $40 retail, it wouldn't even make sense to ask for the same $10 fee. These games just want you playing sooner, they want your money right away and to eventually sell you DLC. On top of that we are talking about a digital version. Allowing fans to download the digital version for free cost them nothing and keeps the fans interested.

The whole point of this is to get the PS fans playing earlier so they aren't sitting by and waiting for the PS4 version. That way they get that $40 game purchase and a couple extra months paid subscription fees. That monthly paid subscription is more than $10 to begin with.

This is not some apology for selling them a broken game, I have a bunch of friends on PSN currently playing the game that keep praising it and trying to get me to buy it sooner. If the game really was unplayable they would have to fix it. The problems described can all be settled by being in a less populated area.

Here is the issue.
"Being in a less populated area."
Since the 90s there have been settings that can be made to make sure your game can only display a certain amount of characters. only 12 character on screen at a given time,etc. Instead of implementing this your logical approach is to just not play in said zone. That is just plain wrong.
If you buy said game you should be able to play anywhere at optimal settings.
I can not see how people just SETTLE rather than question why this is happening...
