It's high up on my list, but to be honest... i don't really see anything that's nextgen about these screenshots. They look like current gen visuals. Not that it looks bad, but this doesn't seem to look anything better than many games of current gen.

The part that feels next gen is the way the lighting is set up. All real time, and beautiful looking. Most of the time lighting is baked and static... including shadows.

This is employing a lot of methods like cryengine 3 does. The shaders are hot too.

But its just developers learning they can do things better ways... easier ways... without all that programmer logic lol... u can make games look hot without taxing the hell out of the gpu.

You dont always need the latest and greatest graphics if you have a solid way of faking the lighting. And if no one can tell the difference. Why use the brute force methods at all and sacrifice other graphical elements.

Plus on a more technical level is built for open world now. MGS4 looks like crap compared to this one. MGS4 more mainstream techniques... this one more creativety with the technology.

Really? Screenshots? Who cares about screenshots. People want to see gameplay. A game can look good and play like shit. Who the f-ck cares about that. Snake's animation is stiff and the sound effects are terrible. Why is Kojima still using 16 year old sound effects. The guns sound like crap and the video had a truck squealing tires in the mud(WTF?!)

Wow....Youtube gameplay clips really don't do this game enough justice for how good it looks. Photo realism being accomplished already for the next gen in an open world game. 1080p, 60FPS. This game is high up on my list.

Expanding upon their game and ADDING new features and ways to play on top of their old games NOT stripping away features and giving it a new coat of paint and making it simplistic to play.

Cant wait for this game.
Looks very good to me, certainly isnt the most impressive looking Next gen title, but that is sort of expected when the game is designed for Ps360 gen in the first place. Minor uppgrades really would do wonders for its next gen counterpart as it looks a bit short on things like ground/character polycount (at times), hair and some less impressive textures. Perhaps some will be improved before release on Next gen platform.

The good draw distance, dynamic effects and AWESOME lighting is what sells the visuals for me, they already looked next gen when the game was first teased supposedly running on Ps360 eqvivalent hardware.

Animation and gameplay looks solid as always and I cant wait too see what the AI will be like, supposedly its going to be very good as Kojima has stated. And that would be a huge plus since now you can approach a scene in many more ways unlike the seemingly much more linear fashion of previous mgs games. Im glad Kojima expands on things really that have such impact on gameplay yes the graphics are impressive but so are the tactical freedom and dynamic elements.

Remember the gameplay trailer Snake stealthed his way through the dessert first on a horse, hijacked a car, then got on a patroling truck by herding the sheep in to the middle of the road? And there is a new CQC system also I mean... It got awesome written all over it!

the way he moves now is such improvement from the older MGS games.the running,cqc,jumping,when he dive out of the way of that crashing helicopter.but the open world is were we are going to be amazed with.just think about it.the soldiers,dogs,tanks,helicopter ,different parts of the open world and the metalgears guarding the base you sneak in.yeah i going to miss the voice of original snake but i'm not missing this game over a voice change.

I just don't get it, Dev keep telling us all their games are running at 1080p/60fps, but the character animation look clunky and stiff.

Ive noticed this flaw in many next gen games so far.

I said the same damn thing. The animation looks stiff and the sound is crap. The guns sound like cap guns and the tranquilizer sounds like a pop gun. The truck actually squealed tires in the mud while it was raining. This game needs more work before putting out any damn demos

looks nice and crisp, but there is very little in the environment, personally I prefer that, make the game look clear and crisp, with no jaggies

who cares if there isn't a ton of things on screen

I still think splinter cell looks far better, on pc at least, but its coming along, certainly a HUGE step above mgs 4

I wouldn't expect much since this game will be a cross-gen release. It will first be developed for PS3 and X360 and then they will port it to PS4 and XB1 with higher frame-rate and resolution, and that's all there is to it just like when the PC gets console ports.

Does anyone else notice a rubber-like look to some of the surfaces, especially Snake's suit? The wood texture reminds me of Disney Infinity's toy look. Still, it looks smooth and I'm sure it'll be a great game. I'm going to be as broke as a hobo come January.

Meh, screens looks Ok. Becoming a PC gamer has really opened my eyes as to what graphics can really look like in games. Two months ago this would have been amazing to me, but now it's just Ok. Hopefully this comes to PC so I can run it at 2k/120fps for shits and giggles. Btw, does anybody know if this games is 1080p60fps on next-gen consoles?
