Fantastic news, I cant wait to hear her composition for Kingdom Hearts III

-Foxtrot3867d ago

I can't wait for the new theme song by Hikaru Utada...although the intro which usualy recaps everything is going to be VERY long after all the silly handheld/spin off games

I hope in KH HD remix 2.5 they include Dream Drop Distance since they said you need to play it to understand KH3 story.

I'm still ticked off that apparently at the end of DD <spoiler> Sora dosen't become a Keyblade Master, he fails and Rikku becomes one instead. I mean I know Sora failed his test and needed saving but COME ON. He's saved both worlds TWICE and he wasn't even supposed to weild the Keyblade the guy who was supposed to, Rikku lost his heart to the darkness and became evil so I don't really see how they can't let Sora pass but instead make someone who has just joined the good side recently pass after everything he did

Is it confirmed that Hikaru is going to do the next game's theme? I thought she said she didn't want to do them anymore because of her English translations losing "feeling" or something like that.

-Foxtrot3867d ago

Well she better...come on it's one more game in this current trilogy. When they start a new trilogy in the far far future then they can replace her but she may aswell. It's not like they come out every 2-4 years, they come out once in a blue moon.

coolasj3866d ago

Utada Hikaru has been a like a 4 year hiatus. She's only come out to do the ending credit songs for the Evangelion Rebuild movies. She'll probably jump at the opportunity to do the next Kingdom Hearts Theme. If they didn't it be as crazy as replacing David Hayter and casting someone else as Snake! Oh wait... uh oh.

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3866d ago

Actually, she said she wont because Square Enix didnt want to pay her enough. But that was years ago. She has to do 4 versions of one song. The Japanese version, the English version (which has completely different lyrics), And both songs have to have a slow version.

Either way she I heard she went on hiatus for a while after her last album hit the top 20 in America (unprecedented for an Asian artist). Not sure if she returned.

gerol3866d ago

i doubt Hikki will return to KH since her management strongly says that Disney does not pay enough for her work.

@Sharingan_no_Kakashi:
you're wrong. Charice has a higher peaked in the US. She is the first Asian solo singer in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart (which she peaked at no. 8)
while Utada's second album "This Is the One" peaked at no. 69

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3866d ago

My bad.

I meant top 20 on iTunes.

godofboobees3866d ago

My buddy also had his wife come down the aisle to it. Being best man and and holding back tears was hard

I'm just glad to hear the game is progressing.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled7d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog139d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake139d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic137d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan138d ago

How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman139d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator139d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno139d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior139d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake139d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
