Awesomenauts PS4 took only 'few weeks' to get base running, 8GB GDDR5 RAM Allows More Texture Budget

"Awesomenauts is a 2D battle arena game developed by Ronimo Games, a development team based in Netherlands. Awesomenauts is already available on a host of platforms such as the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, OSX and Linux."

But you don't have access to 8GB GDDR5 ram...

user74029313864d ago

still is the most powerful next gen console by far. hell, 4gb ps4 would still annihilate its competition.

abzdine3864d ago

games and creativity come first, power is just a tool to go faster.
there are too many 16bits games which are unmatched in terms of depth and amount of creativity put into them.

ShinMaster3863d ago

@-Mika-

Read the article, not the title.

DigitalAnalog3864d ago

It's a stupid title. Nowhere did they say they've utilized the entire GDDR5 memory. They simply implied the released RAM spec gave them the space needed without unnecessary optimizations to get the game running.

Ezz20133864d ago (Edited 3864d ago )

yeah i just read the article
they never said they are using all of the 8GB DDR5

pretty misleading title

Marked3864d ago

LMAO...you cant be serious!

I have 8gb of ddr3 and 3gb of gddr5 on my PC an even games on extreme settings dont consume more then 30% of my system.

There are only so many things that can be preloaded in a dynamic environment.

Ashlen3864d ago (Edited 3864d ago )

That's because all the pc games your talking about are made to run on Windows XP 32-bit which has a 4 GB ram limit. If PC games were optimized for 64 bit they would load the whole game into ram and the performance would be improved.

Magicite3864d ago

30%? what are you playing, some pre-2010 games?

SniperControl3864d ago (Edited 3864d ago )

Maybe, maybe not, but id rather listen to a ACTUAL developer than some little troll fanboy.

As the peeps said above, no where in the article does it mention they fully use 8gb GDDR for games.

Edit: Article was submitted to N4G by actual author of the article on Gamingbolt.

Clickbait article in my opinion.

Godmars2903864d ago

Think it has more to do with the GDDR5, faster processing, than any amount of RAM used.

Or just the ease of access of the architecture.

Actually, they have access to 6GB+ of GDDR5 ram for games/devs.

1GB of DDR3 = 512mb of GDDR5 so...

livininsin3863d ago

Actually, nobody knows how much RAM is available but Sony and Devs that are under NDA.

What I do know is you somehow got "6GB+" from an article about neogaf forum posters. an article that says:

"So how much RAM does PS4 really allocate for gaming? Sony didn’t say, but a few NeoGAF insiders, who’ve been

>ALMOST<

universally right with other rumors, have given hints that

>UP TO<

6GB of RAM is allocated for gaming on the upcoming console."

Let me paraphrase that for you:

An few completely anonymous neogaf posters, who are sometimes completely wrong about these things, hint that up to 6GB of RAM is allocated for gaming on the upcoming console.

Confirmed! 6GB+ available! /s

da1writer3856d ago (Edited 3856d ago )

I only provided a link to counter the people still going on with the rumored and debunked 4.5gb crap - that was all, a dev confirmed though it is more than 4.5. I too agree that Sony has not mentioned how much but Gamers won't be able to tell anyways as they play. Some people worry too much was my point... take it however you want with your sarcasm...

I wonder if you get the PS4 version for free if you have the PS3 version.
