Theres 2 disks. one is a mandatory install the other is the disc u play on.

Also the 360/PS3 numbers arent so different just a gap of 1 mil. Sides that 360 is more prone to shooters. Also 360 does better in america so theres a big chunk.

When you combine sales, it gets really interesting. GTA is killing with both console versions. I'm picking up my copy today!

It's also very interesting when you combine sales for consoles. It paints the picture that MS still is #1 in the USA! As an American consumer, I love to see that!

Being an American it does play a part in it for me. I typically buy US products over products from other countries. It played into the reason I bought a 2013 Ford Mustang.

Now, when it comes to consoles, it just so happens the console I like most because of the GAMES & the focus on Digital Future & Tech, I favor the Xbox One. Though I also have a ps4 pre-ordered.

I'm an American, during the Olympics, I root for USA, why wouldn't I root for Microsoft? I live in Seattle. They are a homegrown company 10 miles from where I live. I have friends who work for Microsoft.

The combined numbers show that Microsoft still leads in the USA easily. It also shows how far off the internet is when it comes to perception. MS is far from dead, MS has already stated that the launch of the xbox one in regards to pre orders have already surpassed the xbox 360 from 8 years ago. That's good signs of things to come. Sure Sony has done a better job igniting their fan base and getting them to run out and pre order the ps4. The price point is amazing at 399. If the xbox one was 399, the MS fanbase would be on fire as well. Most Xbox fans are happy with their 360's and the sales SHOW THAT. MS has built a great base and Xbox one will do incredible. Next gen gaming will be a blast for both consoles. November can't come fast enough for me.

Well the 360 has the bigger install base so it's to be expected.

But if you look at next gen things aren't looking good for Microsoft, only 2 titles in the top 15 vs 5 for the PS4. It's even worse if you just look at top ten then it's 1 vs 3. And overall the PS4 has about 50% more pre-orders in the top 40.

Elite, I feel you. But look where you are at. Look who your audience is and their response. It is futile to even bother because regardless what and how you say it, you are a fanboy, and they are just consumers of a console. I buy American also. It has zero to do with my lack of interest in playstation. The controller design which did not change for three generations (which has improved in Ps4), and my past horrible experience with PSN is to blame for that. Plus my experience with Xbox, and being a beta tester of Xbox live when it launched have plenty to do with my loyalty to the console. I have great history with Xbox and Xbox live and that is where my friends and family are. So that is where I stay. Plus I love the games.

Interesting numbers for PS4 and Xbox one.

Usually the hardcore pre-order...and America is Microsoft's strong market....yet PS4 is leading by quite a good margin.

Numbers from Japan and Europe should be even better for Sony.
