Sony, Sony, Sony! Got the Xbone beat! (In Japan)
@CustardTrout
I'm more excited by yours too! Those are my two most favorite things in the whole world! I can only imagine when you put them together...uh oh, better call Saul.

CustardTrout3874d ago

I'm more excited by your username than the actual article...

abzdine3874d ago

FPS and Forza? never knew japanese had interest in those games.
well...

Mikelarry3874d ago

i thought i was the only one.

No FanS Land3874d ago

abzdine: Don't worry theses demo consoles will be left untouched.

mewhy323874d ago

Well maybe the playable games will help them get some excitement built up in that market. They have been struggling mightily there for a long time. I think competition is good for the entire industry. It spurs innovation and creativity with the gamers reaping the benefits.

andrewsqual3874d ago

@abzdine They don't but Forza and Ryse are pretty much the only 2 game Microsoft have shown running on actual Xbone hardware so what else are they gonna do. At least we get to see Titanfall yet again on PC.

Funny thing is that Suda 51 said that the Japanese will soon embrace the Xbox :D

Not sure about that one...

SaulGoodman3874d ago

You're just trying to waste my bubbles Abs. ;)

Abriael3874d ago

@SaulGoodman: I'll mark that as success :P

Baka-akaB3874d ago

well the japanese arent even exactly embracing his games so far , sadly , so his opinion is just that an opinion .

Stsonic3874d ago

Saul please tell me if hank and gomez survive the showdown. I can't wait till sunday!

SaulGoodman3874d ago (Edited 3874d ago )

Ummmm, well sorry to say Gomie gets it, Hank takes out Todd then gets it. Jessie sneaks out of the car and no one sees him for an episode. Walt gets taken by Todd's uncle and then escapes. Madness Ensues.

Shang-Long3874d ago

I'm really curious to see how the X1 will do this gen. I mean the 360
Didn't do well. Even with all the jrpg. With kh and ff15 coming out on both, some may accept the X1. While I do doubt it, should be interesting even tho.

I gotta question, if anyone can answer. If sales go really bad for the X1, would SE drop delevoplment of the games, and make them exclusive again?

I am sorry to say but x1 stand no chance in Japan. Still eager to know Japanese gamers experience with these titles.

savaroth3874d ago

It's not even clear IF or when the One will be released in Japan is it?

Abriael3874d ago

If, yes. It's confirmed that it will be. Has been for a while.

When, no, they didn't say, nor they said the price. The same press release that had the list in this post said "please wait longer for info" lol.

GenericNameHere3874d ago

It's a Tier 3 console, brah. Gotta wait till them important Tier 1 and 2 release first!

GenericNameHere3874d ago

Nice to see that MS is still trying in Japan. For 2 gens straight, the country just doesn't like them. Even with exclusive JRPGs in the 360s early life cycle, they still got no reward from Japanese gamers.

Anyways, can't wait for their feedback on Titanfall. Will Japanese gamers fall in love with it as Nomura and Kojima had? Or is it another Western game that's gonna make little to no dents in the Japanese sales charts?

MRMagoo1233874d ago

If they want mechs they have that gundam something or other and that armoured core game, i dont think a shooter will sway them.

GenericNameHere3874d ago

Yeah, I definitely understand that. But Hideo Kojima and Tetsuya Nomura both praised Titanfall! Two big name Japanese developers praising a western game that has mechs. Gundam is still highly relevant in Japan, and I'd love to someday see the life sized Gundam in person in Odaiba, Japan, but I want to know if having these two big names can have a huge impact on Titanfall's Japanese success.

Mr_Danski3874d ago

If i had to guess, id say Sony will be showing off Deep Down, Drive Club, Second son and Kill Zone?

To be fair, each console has a strong launch, but if i had to pick one of them games to get hands on, id pick Deep Down.

I hope lots of new content arises.

Abriael3874d ago

They're showing quite a lot more than that.

Mr_Danski3874d ago

Yes id imagine so, i was talking AAA Titles :)

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad588d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g587d ago (Edited 587d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

Ryse: Son of Rome Deserves a Second Shot

Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title that has been left to collect dust, but Crytek should set aside Crysis and give Ryse another shot.

It was a great game, it had issues but it can only go up from here.

crazyCoconuts618d ago

It was just ok. Looked really good for an Xbox game though

Snookies12618d ago

"for an Xbox game"

Way to subtly throw shade there. It looked amazing compared to any game at the time it was released.

Never played it myself though, wasn't really interested in it personally. Plus it came at a time when I didn't own an Xbox console. But it was at least different than the usual copy/paste games we get. So I hope it gets another chance sometime soon.

Crows90618d ago

It was a crytek game though

1nsomniac618d ago (Edited 618d ago )

It was a stunning game on all basis. One of the standout games for Xbox as a whole. I ended up buying on pc as well… and yes nothing looked better than it in PC at the time either. Nothing just ok about it, definitely needs a sequel.

fr0sty617d ago

@snookies12, don't pretend like the Xbox One didn't struggle with being gimpled by its tiny pool of ESRAM as a frame buffer. It was significantly weaker than the PS4.

crazyCoconuts617d ago

Metacritic 60, user score 6.4. I'm not alone in putting it into the "ok" category...

VenomCarnage89617d ago

@snookies
Haven't played it but at least you know enough to defend Xbox over it. The game did look good, for an Xbox game. That's not some "subtle shade," it's full on reality.
I remember it being nearly the only graphically decent game on the Xbone for like the first two years after launch, and graphics were that games strength

CrimsonWing69618d ago

I really enjoyed it. Bought it at launch even.

ManMarmalade617d ago (Edited 617d ago )

The qte's were disappointing though. God of war was doing it back in the ps2 days. As gorgeous as the game was, the gameplay needed to be updated.

annoyedgamer618d ago

I really liked the original Ryse but Crytek doesn't have the funds. The mismanaged their properties and let EA raid them with Crysis for the duration of their relationship. Right now they are working on Crysis 4, I doubt they can spare resources to work on a Ryse sequel.

gamer7804618d ago

It would have to be funded by MS, I really liked Ryse sure it got repetitive but the setting visuals and story were good

moriarty1889618d ago

MS should have funded a sequel to Ryse and Sunset OD. Two good franchises they definitely needed last gen.

annoyedgamer617d ago

MS is too busy trying to become the next EA, Ryse wont be on their list of titles to finance unless it gets a hipster makeover with lootboxes.

darthv72618d ago (Edited 618d ago )

I recently bought it for the steamdeck and have to say... 60fps is a game changer. I really wished MS had gotten a one x patch or series boost mode option but sadly, nope. Other games that definitely deserve a second chance (esp on steamdeck/pc) are quantum break and sunset overdrive. Both deserved 60fps support on one x / series but you have to go to PC for that.

Rumor has it Crytek had plans for a Ryse 2 but due to the low turnout for XB (at the time) it was shelved. They really should give this another shot. i dont care if its multiplat on PS and XB and PC and Switch... just so long as part 2 gets made.

babadivad617d ago

The game is automatically boosted on Series X

darthv72617d ago

sorry... but it's not. It still runs at the same fps the XBO did.

lelo2play618d ago

Game was good enough, not great.
Graphically it was top notch. Still holds well till this day.

Crows90618d ago

It only needed more enemy variety and few more movesets or weapons to use. That would have made the experience tons better.

MadLad618d ago

It was a good game.
Only time I saw quick time events actually make me feel engaged.
