Does Having Sexier Characters Improve Gameplay or Just Sales?

I share my thoughts and analysis of Metal Gear Solid V's Hideo Kojima resorting to using sexy character designs to boost his figurine sales and increase numbers of female cosplayers using the character "Quiet" for cosplay events.

Sexy characters are nice, but it has to be layered on top of a great game as well. For example, while Snake had a really nice ass, especially in those tights in MGS4, it would have been pointless if the game itself wasn't great.

Everyone knows that heavy armor slows you down. Kevlar composite pads limit mobility. Communications equipment allows you to be hacked. ... and clothing, Pff, who needs clothes? I like sand in my #@$$*!

Yeah I would if the engine under the hood was an absolute beast just like if a game had crap graphics but was a real enjoyment to play.

True but aesthetics plays a big part on sales. It's natural for human beings to be drawn on something they find attractive. I'm not one to judge a book by it's cover but most regular folk judge things by looks alone.

It is a distraction to gameplay, I say! I always lose when I am fighting one-on-one against all those DOA female characters. Too much distraction going on. :D

Definitely improves the gameplay no end. I much prefer looking at sexy females than men.

I don't know about you guys, but when I was younger a game I played religiously was MGS (Metal Gear Solid) for PS1. I put massive hours into that game, and I dunno if it was just puberty or what but when I was younger I had feels for Sniper Wolf. I know its hard to imagine for some but its the way Hideo portrays these women. Yeah, they are beautiful but they also are very intelligent and they are warriors. I think people are missing that part though.

I think people are reading too much into this and should just let it be, Hideo has always put women with nice assets ;) in his MGS games. It is nothing new. I think his vision is simple, that a women doesn't have to be butchy looking to be hardened and ready for war, that they dont need to look manly to be manly. Thats how I see it anyway.

I bet $100 if the character is fat and ugly or anything else different than Quiet people will complain and ban this game..lolz
