If Rockstar announces GTA 5 for XB1/PS4, what will your reaction be?

Not official, but most obviously coming, what will you do if Rockstar makes the announcement in the weeks following your purchase of the PS3 or Xbox 360 version. Anger? Happiness? A trip to the store to buy the next gen console?

I'm praying that they release a PS4/XBO version. That would make me the happiest gamer alive. I don't see it as being too unlikely, either. The only reason they wouldn't say anything about it just yet is for the sake of jeopardizing some current-platform customers.

If it doesn't happen, I'm hoping to at least have it playable through Gaikai on PS4 next year.

I will cancel my GTA V preorder,drive up to Scotland, start praying to the building and doing some naked ritual outside and then download it for. My PS3 has been playing up lately. I just hope it survives/stops being a drama queen for GTA

My reaction would be to wait until I get my PS4 of course. Any game that comes out for the current gen and next get like the new Assassin's Creed, MGS5, etc., I'll play on PS4 as opposed to my 360 or PS3. Might as well enjoy the best version.

I'm fully expecting such an announcement once GTA V launched for current gen consoles. They'll probably announce it early next year for a spring release. I'll probably buy it all over agian for the PS4 :)

Yup I've been anticipating this announcement myself considering every official video released by rockstar so far has not been running on current-gen consoles. The shadows and AA are too good to be current gen from what we've seen so far, most definitely running on PC.

I just wish they'd be more honest about it and show us how it looks on current gen at least. Same goes for Watchdogs :P Sneaky devs!

I can see them releasing gta online for the next gen of consoles as they've stated that they will constantly be updating and improving the online aspect of the gam for the foreseeable future, and what better place for a gta mmo than on future proofed consoles. Consoles that can host massive amounts of players in a huge persistent world/ map without frame rate dips and such.

I wish my PS3 could deliver graphics taht crisp. Sure it had ps3 face buttons show up on the HUD but PC games do that too when you connect a 360 or ps3 controller.

A down bubble for being dumb would be great, because a lot of people here seem to think the graphic fidelity of GTA5 shown so far has been on current-gen consoles? I'm sorry but it was most definitely PC, show me one game running on ps3 with shadows, AA and draw distance that good and in a game with this sort of scale? Even The Last Of Us which is one of the best looking games this gen didn't have shaders or AA that good.

Thats funny, I don't have a PC :) i do have a ps3 and a 360 though, and I'll be buying it on 360 simply because the majority of my friends use XBL and I cannot wait to play GTA Online.

And just because they haven't announced this for PC, doesn't mean it won't be getting a PC release. It's an inevitability, and if you notice one of the most recent GTA stories on this site is about pop-in, bad AA and frame-rate issues with regards to the 360 version, the PS3 version will probably fair no better.

They wouldn't be the first dev to show off the "ps3" version and later have it turn out to be the game on PC with a controller hooked up. I just don't want people slamming the game's graphics when it doesn't live up to whats been shown, I've seen that happen to too many games this gen already from people who don't know any better(BF3 comes to mind, as does AC3)

Tbh, I imagine it will come out within the next 18 months, it will have a nice graphical tweaking, include whatever DLC that gets released on current gen consoles and release on XB1, PS4 and hopefully PC.

Yes, its not cheap to port games over. Is it worth the time and money for 2k ames. Keep in mind every next gen console sold that gamer may not be a GTA fan that why im saying a low install base will be a loss to 2k games and the expense of printing packaging the game is an added expense.

I'd be supremely pissed off if they announced it weeks or even two months after I bought it for PS3. I would feel like I was duped into playing the inferior version just so they could make a little more money and I'd start considering Rockstar another of those companies that used to be great but ruined themselves with money grubbing and screwing over the consumer.

If it was announced quite a few months down the line and didn't release until at least a year from today I wouldn't mind too much because even if I knew it was coming I'd probably have given in and played the inferior version anyway rather than waiting over a year.

I think basically if I find out they've been intentionally holding back information on a relatively soon next gen version I will feel angry and betrayed.

I was under the impression Rockstar had worked a miracle and made their best game on current gen. Not an easy feat considering GTA 4, Red Dead, LA Noire, and Max Payne 3 were all very good.

I hate when games get ported over to next gen. I want NEW games. The fact that it can be done on current gen, makes me doubt it is a next gen game. Would been fine if Assassins Creed 4 stayed current gen as it doesn't scream innovation of any sort. Graphically speaking- looks great. Watchdogs looks like a next gen launch game, but it cheapens the experience.

I think Sony would utterly CRUSH Microsoft if it was announced at TGS for PS4. But GTA is too big of a franchise to go exclusive. Neither Sony nor MS could pay up enough money to equal the amount of money that would be lost by cutting out the other.
