Grand Theft Auto V is a 100 Hours Long Open World Experience According to Rockstar's Dan Houser

Grand Theft Auto V definitely looks like it’ll provide players with a lot to do even before they delve into Grand Theft Auto Online, but just how long will the game keep them busy? Very long, if you believe Rockstar Vice President of Creativity Dan Houser.

My body is so ready for this ^_^
Hopefully it will be comparable to San Andreas in terms of size, this is my favourite GTA until now.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3877d ago

I think they said its way bigger than San Andreas.

ZodTheRipper3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

Yes but R* said the main storyline is supposed to be shorter.
GTA4's story already was shorter than GTA:SA, and GTA5 is supposed to be even shorter than that ...but I'm sure side stories and activities are going to compensate that. They know exactly what they're doing so there is no need to worry.

ZodTheRipper3877d ago

"As for the length of the game, Rockstar said that the main story alone lasts about the same as Red Dead Redemption. So about 25-30 hours. But there will be a HUGE amount of secondary things to do."
People here are disagreeing with facts lol

JKelloggs3877d ago

I read that it's the same size as Red Dead, San Andreas, GTA IV combined

Anthotis3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

Morrowind was said to have a 100 hours of gameplay, and i played it for 6 months non stop.

AngryTypingGuy3877d ago

100 hours? Wow, that's delving into Elder Scrolls territory.

slapsta723877d ago

the campaign is shorter than gta IV, iirc. rockstar were bummed that so many people didn't complete IV's story.

Abriael3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

There must be a lot of chatting around since the script is 1000 pages.

The problem wasn't the length of the story, but the stupid phone calls from everyone and his mother because they needed counseling.

ZBlacktt3877d ago

It was SO boring and I hated the car movements/functions, lol. Going from epic San Anderas to that was a mind blowing bad.

JohnS13133877d ago

I agree. I hardly even played GTA IV. I've gone back to it several times to try again but I just can't. It bores me. Hopefully GTA V is a lot more fun. More like GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas.

T23877d ago

Ya it had some problems but there were some positives ... Taxis were an upgrade on running through the mountains for ten minutes to find a tractor lol ... Altho it was funny

Scholla3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

@slapsta I did! twice!

orakle443877d ago

get ready trevor because im gonna play the sh*t out of you!

HammadTheBeast3876d ago

For some reason, I don't trust you.

mafiahajeri3877d ago

The last couple of days are always the hardest...

5h4h4b3877d ago

Woohoo. Best time to be console gamer.

Abriael3877d ago

I wish it was the best time to be ANY gamer. Rockstar really needs to get its rear in gear with PC releases...

Shadowsteal3877d ago

Maybe you should get a Console. GTA was born on Consoles and you can bet your ass that Consoles will always get the premium treatment. You don't see console gamers begging for Diablo. But unfortunately we got it anyways.

TwistingWords3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

@Shadowsteal,

GTA was born on PC by your logic then since it came out first on PC, also every GTA game on PC has also had premium treatment, in the way of the clip editor in game and mods.

Abriael3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

@Shadowsteal: I have ALL the consoles mate, and both PS3 and Xbox One preordered.

But if you ever saw what mods can do to Grand Theft Auto IV, you'd understand why I want V on a moddable platform.

Modded GTA IV already looks next gen. Modded GTA V would look even better.

Seafort3877d ago (Edited 3877d ago )

@Shadowsteal: Erm no it wasn't. The first GTA was developed in DOS for the PC in 1995/6 and it was originally called Race'n'Chase until Dan Houser renamed it to Grand Theft Auto.

It was later ported to Microsoft Windows, Playstation and Game boy Colour in 1997.

So please get your facts straight! This is why PC gamers are so pissed off at Rockstar, formally DMA Design, as we were the ones who made them what they are.

I guess you think Call of Duty started on consoles too, right? Wrong, PC exclusive once again.

The consoles are the stealer of games not the PC.

Pintheshadows3877d ago

Sorry Seafort. Whilst you are factually correct it wasn't until the release of GTA3 that DMA, now R* found true success with the franchise and that was due to releasing it on this small thing called PS2. From there with Vice and SA it just exploded. Nothing has to be just console or just PC. Accept that. Your life will be easier. And as for consoles stealing PC games, well that is just stupid. You are acting as if there is nothing else to play on PC.

die_fiend3877d ago

@ Shadowsteal

Lol, what an idiot thinking GTA was born on console. You only needed to count to 1

steve30x3877d ago

@ Shadowsteal : GTA 1 and GTA 2 were PC games first. Get your facts right.

Shadowsteal3877d ago

@Everyone

Alright you got me, I just got schooled.

But Rockstar <3's Consoles anyways. So enjoy touting being the "Master PC Race" without it.

RumbleFish3877d ago

OMG! The hate for PC gaming is so meh. GTA will be great on all platforms. Some people just have to complain.

steve30x3875d ago

@ Shadowsteal : I wasn't claiming to be the master race PC. You stated something very wrong. I have GTA V preordered on my Xbox 360.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Profchaos36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar36d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo36d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg36d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos36d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
