Titanfall Will Be Playable at Tokyo Game Show, Skipping New York Comic Con

Sony is going to bring some rather big guns to the Tokyo Game Show in order to promote the PS4, but what about the Xbox One side of things? Titanfall will be playable there probably to bank on the Japanese's love for giant robots, but unfortunately for New Yorkers, it'll skip Comic Con.

This could work well for MS... Afterall Japanese's people may not be shooter fans but they sure love their robots :p and titans fit the bill.

sinncross3883d ago

Well, I will be at TGS so I guess I will be able to see Titanfall?

slazer1013883d ago

I thought. MS was not launching in Japan? Seems strange they would show TF at TGS unless they plan on launching before TF comes out in 2014. Which is possible I guess.

I still don't see how people expect EA to keep a game exclusive to any platform. I will wait for Titanfall on PS4. Its coming. Its EA now. If you seriously believe EA won't aim the game at the PS4 then you have something wrong with your head. Why is this my logic? Just read below. :)

Destiny = MMOFPS. Published by Activision on all platforms in 2014.

Titanfall = MMOFPS. Published by EA on ......... in 2014. Just wait for it.

EA wants this on as many platforms as possible to compete with Activision/Bungie's Destiny. Its inevitable. EA turned the dial up on the FPS sales war with Activision you can't expect them to dial it back now.

Neither Destiny or Titanfall is MMO, Destiny has RPG elements and Titanfall is just multiplayer matches like team deathmatch.

Ripsta7th3882d ago

Respawn.devs said MS was developing closely with them, could turn out to be another gears sort of deal like they have with Epic

H0RSE3882d ago

@Ripsta7th

The difference is that MS published GoW, so it made more sense why it was exclusive to xbox. MS isn't involved with the development of Titanfall - Respawn are the devs and EA are the publisher, this is why many insist it will not stay exclusive. However, nothing is set in stone, and MS has a shit ton of money. Any one who sees Titanfall as definitely coming to PS4, is just wishful thinking.

It could be an entirely separate issue, like limitations or whatnot preventing them from releasing the game on PS4 - like Azure giving the devs the options/features they want/need to develop the game they way they want it. If something like that is the case, it won't matter if EA is involved or not.

EXVirtual3883d ago

Why Titanfall. I mean, I know mechs are the thing over there, but the FPS thing really won't work that well.

Hellsvacancy3883d ago (Edited 3883d ago )

It'll be all eyes on Sony, just like every TGS

"COME ON SONY, show me (us) The Last Guradian"

FamilyGuy3883d ago

Deep Down is going to be playable at TGS, that's pretty big news on its own. TLG would make the event mind blowing.

Salooh3883d ago

We should get more of FF15.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad593d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g593d ago (Edited 593d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad874d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal872d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
