A Future Where Only One Or Two Games Have All Of The Multiplayer Space

"At the moment, the gaming sphere seems to be headed in a Multiplayer dominated direction. Many games seem like they want to be the next big Multiplayer experience, but on the whole, are just unable to compete with a few of the biggest titles out. Whilst this is sad to see, we can envision a future where only a small number of games have the entire Multiplayer domain, this isn’t detrimental, but is actually good for gaming as a whole."

I would generally agree with this article. All in all there has to be something compelling about a game to keep playing it. For some, it's that dangling carrot of experience points and upgrades. For others, it is just the competition and leaderboards. However, there is another group that just doesn't care about any of that. They just want a complete, fun game. It seems as though the last couple of years devs have been focusing on trying to beat CoD in the multiplayer space. Tacked on multiplayer was the theme of the day. So many games had multiplayer just for the sake of it being a bullet point. My sincere hope is that those that choose to do multiplayer don't do it at the expense of the single player experience. Also, that they make it fresh. A person can only play deathmatch, and capture the flag/point for so long. This is why I look forward to games like Destiny and The Division. They are including more of a mmo, and more importantly, co-op styled multiplayer. This becomes a less competitive, less intimidating, and more social experience.

Good attempt at an article but there are loads of games out there that offer brilliant single player experiences im not going to name them but i do see what this guy is saying some devs are trying to jump on the multiplayer band wagon.

There our multiple thousands of games divided between all platforms that only single player or have multiplayer but have a solid sp experience.
