Those who have had a chance to play around with Sony's latest console, the PS4, have been sharing their experiences and what they think about Sony's latest big black box with those of us who have not. But what about the developers? Those who are involved in making the software for us to enjoy — What do they think?
TheGamer: "At PAX East, we sat down with the team behind Final Fantasy 16's upcoming The Rising Tide to see what's coming next in the DLC and what may be beyond."
Veteran video game developer Shinji Mikami has established a new company.
That’s according to a bio of the developer on the new Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered website, which claims that Mikami has recently founded ‘Kamuy Inc’.
No details further details on the company have been shared. There is also no indication of what the company will do.
Shinji should never stop making games. Kinda crazy he left the funding of M$ though.
I remember when it was announced that he was leaving Tango, someone on N4G claimed that he was old and it was time for him to retire.
I couldn't help but laugh at the ignorance. Mikami (like most Japanese people), do not want to work for Microsoft, they want their games to be played by their fellow citizens, which means Switch, Playstation, and PC. But this fool couldn't comprehend that. 🤣
Was waiting for his return announcement, glad to see that he's back! Please don't make mobile games.
I hope it's still survival horror
They should build on what they did with Evil Within for a new IP and take notes from the Evil Within sequel with those open hub areas.
Wouldn't mind if it was like Resident Evil but with a vampire virus instead.
Yeah this man's skills need a new start to thrive. Hope he keeps doing what he loves. Wonder what his next project is.
Final Fantasy XIV and XVI Producer Naoki Yoshida discusses who could direct Final Fantasy XVII, which advice he'd give them, and what he'd like to do in the future.
As someone who played both Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI both games suffered from Yoshi P being siphoned back and forth. Endwalker is the weakest expansion compared to it others (but still grear on its own) and Final Fantasy XVI had WAY too many fetch quests which is lazy design.
On a positive note Final Fantasy XIV's new expansion has everything players wanted to come back and more. I am confident that no one was dissappointed. And the Final Fantasy XVI dlc has a different director giving players what we wanted. More lore on The Fallen and whats the deal woth Leviathan the Lost.
And no one got hurt.
Probably it should be someone who likes RPG, who can make the world's biggest RPG series to go back to being a freaking RPG.
And also, Nomura has to stay extremely far away from having any decisions on the plot,
Mentions he doesn't want to pick a fight with the older games. Makes sense cause ff still don't hold up to what it used to. They haven't touched the greatness in new ff games that were there with 6 through 9(add 10 if you must).
I honestly think the FF7 Remake team should do the next FF game. I was not a fan of 16 and hope to god that isn’t going to be the template for 17 to move forward with.
I see the the PS4 is a big black box ready to be filled with their creative juices!!! The PS4 cant come quick enough for me!
Ps4 is a video game console & not a cable box..
Looks like developers are starting to use that extra power already. That's a good thing.
EDIT:
"By increasing the memory, the freedom of design and expression increases. Characters and maps can be displayed in high quality. The SHARE button, the remote play capabilities, and the companion apps all allow for more freedom. It feels like the PS4 is saying to us, 'I've prepared an amusement park for you. Here is some equipment, too. How you put it all together and what you express is up to you.' So the next thing for us is to squeeze out an idea."
I likes it, I likes it.
I hope it's a good console. Good for all gamers
Yes but can we actually see one being used by gamers please.
I've yet to find a video of one being used at either Gamescom or PAX by Joe Public. Please prove me wrong somebody. MS had loads of boxes lined up for the public and they even had them in a retail store being demoed.
I've not seen a PS4 yet working/loading/playing or whatever. All ive found is a guy playing driveclub at Gamescom and you cant see the console only the eye and DS4.
