Xbox One Day One Edition to also come bundled with Forza Motorsport 5?

FIFA 14 may not be the only free game offered to Xbox One Day One Edition consoles. A copy of Forza Motorsport 5 may also come bundled in with the console, judging by a pulled listing at GAME.

GAME posted an image showing the Xbox One Day One Edition appearing to be bundled "with Forza Motorsport 5" on its website soon after Xbox One's release date announcement earlier this afternoon.

But the image was quickly removed, only to be replaced by a standard Xbox One 'Get In The Queue' graphic.

... however, I really hate the whole DLC-milking thing they've got going on with the Forza games, which seems to get worse with each new release, so I haven't bothered picking up Forza 4 or Horizon, until they release a 'complete' version. Which I doubt will happen.

More and more it feels like nowadays you buy half a game for full price, and are then expected to buy the rest through DLC.

Don't know what you mean by dlc milking. Forza 4 and Forza Horizon have a lot of content without dlc. Some of the cars have to be installed off of 2nd disc though. (DVD ROM not big enough for all of content)

They release car packs throughout games lifecycle. No different than any game's dlc, but Forza still gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

I really don't care about the insane amount of cars in these games TBH.

I just think it's a waste of time and effort to spend all that energy on creating new cars which they can sell as DLC, while what I really want is more TRACKS. Original cool fun stunning tracks.

And I don't mean as DLC. I mean that they should just finish a game, release it, and start work on their next game with all their effort. And focus on as many TRACKS as possible.

I love Forza's gameplay and all that, but the DLC really just puts me off.

Sony don't seem to feel the need to do any sort of deal or bundle on PS4. I spose if you have such a hot demand then you don't need to as people will just pay up....

Half a game? Where are you getting this from? Have you even played the Forza games? They are proper fully fledged games...not broken ones released early and then patched numerous times later on (ring a bell?).

I understand where your coming from but in the case of forza the contet packs are normally stuff that is constantly being developed. Not like other games where the content is already on the disc and the bastards charge more to unlock.

In the case of forza the content packs are for real petrol heads who want the latest motors and some classics from time to time, but the game that ships on disc is more than enough for most.

Your not getting a 'lite' or watered down version. Your getting everything that has been developed till the time the game goes to print.

My biggest gripe of the current gen was the loss of cheat codes and cool Easter eggs. I hate the fact that things that once could be unlocked by completing the game on harder difficulties etc. now we hae to pay for all the extra tat that should have been free. Costumes, weapons, hidden missions, these almost always fall under the category of 'downloadable content' which you buy then realise by the download filesize that the bloody item was already on your disc!

That's what I ain't got time for.

P.S. the saying goes... Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but based on your distain for forza even though it could be free, compare it to drive club PS+ edition, your gonna be over the moon with how generous they are going to be.

The playstation being cheaper only matters if a person is looking for any console to buy and price is strong deciding factor. I saw people use your same logic when Fifa was announced to be bundled, and I see it hasn't failed with Forza as well... However, the extra catch here is that you can't buy Forza for PS4, so where is your argument now?

Your entire argument is based around price, but a lot of times, that doesn't even matter. It's like buying a burger vs buying a burger, drink, fries, and dessert for a lower price because you like the taste of the first burger better - If someone wants something, they will buy it, regardless of price or features. On the same note, if the roles were switched, and MS was cheaper than PS4 and boasting the higher numbers, something tells me you would still be buying a PS4 anyway.

There also comes the issue of quality of accessories, in this case the PS camera vs Kinect. Sure, you buy a PS camera for cheaper, but it's also an inferior device in comparison.

I have absolutely no interest at all in owning a PS4, since the factors I look for in a console, PS4 delivers none of them, so if (how you put it) "paying more and getting less" is what I need to do to get the console that delivers the experience(s) I'm looking for, so be it.

It's not really "value" if the games/services you get aren't the ones you want, which was kinda my initial point... Actually, I have seen the free games offered with both XBL Games with Gold and PS+, and none of them really interest me at all. I really don't see the whole free game aspect as value unless I can actually choose which games I want, otherwise it's little more than a good-natured gesture - a "thanks, but no thanks." As for the services themselves, even after the extensive updates/changes PS went through, I still see XBL as the better service.

PS3 headsets work out of the box, you don't have to purchase an adapter.

NO features are locked behind a pay wall except for matchmaking, and that money gives you FREE content and discounts across 3 platforms PS3/PS4/Vita.

Upgradeable HDD straight out of the box no voiding warranties or trying to hack a system to accept it.

Day 1 external HDDs work with the PS4, No waiting for the overpriced proprietary external...

You'll be able to buy a PS4 with EyeCam, 2 Controllers, a copy of Killzone and a special edition of DriveClub on day one for £430. The same price as XB1 with Kinect, 2 games and only 1 Controller.

Know what I would buy on day one if had the chance. PS4.
But that's my own personal opinion though.

I've played Driveclub, it's OK but it's nothing to beat Forza in my eyes. Both games have pretty lacking launch line ups, as every console ever has. However Xbox steals it with Dead Rising 3 for me. The eyecam will not be as well supported as Kinect as it's optional, and is just less impressive in general.

Just my opinion. Enjoy your PS4 and I'll enjoy my Xbox One...and my PS4 once Infamous comes out lol.

No doubt its a fantastic deal if its true, but it begs the question of how bad are they losing in preorder sales for them to do something like this. Its obvious that ps4 is winning the preorders no doubt, but I don't think the one was so far off that they would resort to putting free games to up there sales. I don't know why game companies decided to hold off on releasing a game along with the system for so long...that was normal practice during the 8bit-16bit era...i'd say it really helped push gaming systems out the door for many months...I don't think mario would be the plumber he is today if he wasn't bundled with the nes...

Microsoft and sony should go back to the old ways, it would serve them well...if not a 3rd party game then one of their own...(a good one of course)...releasing fifa and forza is a smart move as it would have a bigger install base than on their own provided xboxes would sell like hot cakes in the initial months...then they would have a larger demand for their dlc...

Sony could follow suit as a counter move and release a game in the U.S....doesn't even have to be new, how about a god of war compilation? along with a demo of the new god of war...put the marketing department to good use...why not?
