Charizard has been my boy since the original Pokemon games. Nice to see he got an upgrade.

DarkHeroZX3879d ago

Its still damn fire/flying. That typing sucks ass! Drought is a good ability but ninetails still does it better. Only one who got a real improvement was blastoised.

Brazz3879d ago

at first glace i agree, Ninetales will do a better job, especially considering that only one "mega pokemon" can be used per team.
however ...
if it receives a good boost, especially in SP.attack and Speed, I dare say that Charizard can come to surprise many in the hands of a good player.

@Brazz

Charizard has always had good speed and special attack with decent bulk. The issue here is typing. Ever since stealth rock was invented and sees heavy use in competitive play Charizard has went from great to useless. Switching into stealth rock alone cuts off 50% of Charizard's HP in 1 go, this makes charizard extremely easy to revenge kill or pick off with priority moves before it even has a chance to attack. And forget about switching out to stop a potential threat from setting up on you because if you switch Charizard out then its less likely you can depend on it late game. Fire/dragon with levitate ability would have been far more useful.

why do other games pull off 3D monster collecting JRPG games just fine? Look at Jade Cocoon and Shin Megami Tensei for examples.

Answer should be obvious.

No other videogame franchise is as merchandise driven as Pokémon

Nintendo 3DS Games We Still Love Playing Even Today

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

When Will The Pokemon Company Introduce a New Typing?

The Pokemon Company has a solid thing going right now. Well, it’s been going on for a while, actually, but it has been a while since a new typing has been introduced to the popular monster-taming series. The latest one, Fairy type, was introduced back in Generation VI (Pokemon X & Y), so it does seem like it is time to bring in a new one. Check out Jason Capp's article for more.
