I'm getting this game right now as I'm typing on steam, looks good so going to give it a go :)

HammadTheBeast3879d ago

It takes a while to get into, a bit difficult to start out, but it's great once you get the hang of it.

slimeybrainboy3879d ago

That's why i'm going to wait untill PS4 until I properly get into it. Last time I played on PC I no fucking idea what was what. Why you couldnt get into tanks, why some people had quad bikes etc.

I'm hoping they'll add some accessibility for the console version. This is going to be so much fun.

JackOfAllBlades3879d ago

I love a good challenge, and this game will be great on my PS4 maybe I should train on PC so I kickass at launch

Maddens Raiders3879d ago

It seems as is if good news for this console, is the only news there is. I for one can't wait to play this on the PS4.

christrules00413879d ago (Edited 3879d ago )

Let me give you a warning though. If your playing on a AMD processor that depends on multiple threads your machine won't actually play as well as an Intel PC would. Right now SOE is making it for the PS4 and admitted to having problems because there engine isn't good at being multi-threaded but since they are breaking that thread up for the PS4 AMD players will get a big boast because they are going to re-implement it as multi-threaded.

Here is a link to the article if you wish to read it. http://www.playstationlifes...

It might be after they release the PS4 version that PC gets the multi-threaded version though.

Tsar4ever013879d ago (Edited 3879d ago )

Thanks for that article, I'am REALLY skeptical at SOE at making such a bold claim as saying PS2 will look/perform as good as running on a high-end gaming desktop. as far as I know they, haven't even shown any beta or alfa footage running off PS4's dev kits yet. Now that I've seen this article, It just raised my skepticism even higher.

Didn't even realize the intel's single thread code against amd's multi-threaded code. I belive allot of specific pc ports may struggle on next-gen consoles because of this.

christrules00413879d ago

Especially when they say they are targeting visuals on par with a high end PC. It doesn't mean the final product will be on par with the high end PC though. Goal isn't equal to reality.

To quote this article, “Based on the PS4 hardware, we are TARGETING visuals that are on par with a high end PC gaming setup. PlanetSide 2 already looks amazing and being able to use all of the PS4 tech to crank up the details will really impress our players.”

CalamityCB3879d ago

Try and find a Platoon!
When there are 100 of you working together towards one common goal with leaders directing you to victory it can be a fun and kickass experience!

Mounce3879d ago

I'm confused with how Planetside 2 is having no problems on PS4, yet BF4 and EA are.

Cause, SCALE, Scope, Size-wise, Planetside 2 is MASSIVE, the only thing that causes discrepancies involving the difference with BF4 and this is, destructible environments, that mostly is it, so why such horribly optimization issues with EA?!

clrlite3879d ago

It is as you said and what a lot of us have been saying.

A game like PS2 which struggled to run well even on high end PCS for a while will be able to run relatively easily on PS4 due to continued optimization.

They said they were working to fix it up and I guess they were just waiting for the right time :]

I hope it's available day one!

PSjesus3879d ago (Edited 3879d ago )

Never been a PC gamer, but i know that for 4K$ i can make a PC that surpass any gaming machine, but how many games use this power 4-5?why should i waste my money on something that hardly supported and in few months will become old and cheaper.
honestly my favorite game this gen is Red dead redemption it's not even released on PC and most of the other games being ports from 2005-6 consoles technology

D3vilzRightHand3879d ago

Hey !!

DOnt download it from steam !!
The STEAM PROGRAM slow down the game a bit so you get worse fps (its very cpu heavy still)

So download the client instead, much better.
I am not fooling you - im an ps1 vet (8 yers) and played ps2 sence early beta.

enjoy the game : )

Eonjay3878d ago

I've seen some of those battles. There are HUNDREDS of people all going at at once. Its insane. The map is like miles wide and you can fight in the air or on the ground, all on one board. Its gets batshit crazy.

And this will turn into a flame article.

*Squirtle i.choose you* Gotta be preparee for.the flames.

Godmars2903879d ago

Why would this turn into a flame war? doubt that PC fanboys are as rabid/defensive as Xbox ones.

gameseveryday3879d ago

This is PS4 based article. Unless someone flames the Xbox One, I dont see this turning into flame bait.

user74029313879d ago

Hell goddamn greatness ultra combo.

DigitalRaptor3879d ago (Edited 3879d ago )

This was actually confirmed back at E3.

This video shows the free-to-play greatness of PS4. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

PlanetSide 2 interview is @ 07:20

user74029313879d ago

and people have the nerve to say next gen cant run bf4 1080p when this has...

1. 3,000 players.

2. outrageously huge worlds

3. vehicles

4. destruction

hennessey863879d ago

It doesn't look all that good though, the scale is what pushes the hardware and the amount of players.

bumnut3879d ago

Are you crazy, you have to say it looks amazing on here.

I got bored of this game a while ago, its just not that great. Still impressive that it can run well on PS4 though.

Haules3879d ago

You mean

and people have the nerve to say PS4 cant run bf4 1080p when this has...
Cause im sure X1 can not run this on max.

I guess I was right after all....

They sold the entire company. I did like when they ran Everquest as well. But numbers were declining unfortunately

Was such a cool concept back in the day - shame that it never really took off like it probably could have with more support
