By Web News Voice: "They already said that nothing will port over except your profile. You bought Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, that will not port so you will have to buy Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. That’s the way it’s gonna be"

I've said this once.

The Minecraft Xbox One Edition is just to get people to buy the game again.

I assume that on PlayStation since the Minecraft is the same version for all consoles, we will be able to buy the game for the Ps4 and download it to Vita and Ps3. Now we have to see.

malokevi3885d ago

I seriously doubt that the PS3 version will be the same as the PS4 version. RAM limitations apply to the PS3 just like they apply to the Xbox360.

And the PSvita version... lol. Also cut down compared to PS4.

Remote play will be free? XD

Soldierone3885d ago

There's isn't a whole lot of power needed by Minecraft to begin with. If anything PS3 and Vita will just load shorter distances, and be a little slower at it.

Its not like they are remaking Minecraft in super HD for next gen.....

malokevi3885d ago (Edited 3885d ago )

If you keep up on it, you would know that they cant do infinite worlds or massive servers on current gen hardware due to ram limitations. that's why next-gen minecraft is a step up, because it will be on par with what they do on PC.

I figured that was common knowledge. My bad.

Studio-YaMi3885d ago (Edited 3885d ago )

Don't think Sony is a charity, they will probably sell each version of the game separately.

I also highly suspect that they would allow remote play for that game(since there will already be a Vita version and if they allow remote play of the PS4 version then they would be shooting themselves in the foot)

I think they will offer a "2 in 1" sort of deal for the PS4&PSVita.

@admiralvic
Why so hostel ? so if Sony cash-in over PS4/PSVita bundles then they will be OK with selling a game on the PS4 that can be played remotely on the Vita WHILE they also over the same game in the Vita store !? how is that NOT shooting yourself in the foot ?

As for your (A) point, didn't know that, thank you for clearing that up.

admiralvic3885d ago

A) Sony doesn't decide what is and isn't a cross buy; the publisher does.
B) Typically only games with "differences" or released later aren't cross-buy.
C) Indeed! Think of all the loss sales from the people that spent over $600 dollars on the PS4 and Vita. Seriously though, it will have no impact. If I want to play Minecraft on the go, then I'll just buy a version I can play locally without wifi. If I want to play a version at home, then I'll buy the console version. Not much more to it.

PrimeGrime3885d ago

That would only be if it were cross-buy between all three systems. Only time will tell but I don't think it will be for that particular game.

Studio-YaMi3885d ago

That's the word I was looking for :
CROSS-BUY

ziggurcat3885d ago

@ pedrof93

"I assume that on PlayStation since the Minecraft is the same version for all consoles, we will be able to buy the game for the Ps4 and download it to Vita and Ps3."

that depends on whether it's a cross buy title. if it's not, then that won't happen, i'm afraid.

Mystogan3885d ago

You have to buy all minecraft editions. PS and Xbox are no exception.Just because you have the PC edition doesn't mean you get the pocket edition or console edition for free. You must be pretty dumb if you think you can buy it on PS3 and get it for free on PS4..

pedrof933885d ago (Edited 3885d ago )

I'm not sure, but I think that there was a game that I bought on PS+ on Ps3 (That could be played on Ps3) and on the same account be download to Vita and played there.

Edit: I've found this:

http://uk.playstation.com/c...

Go to the section cross-buy. it confirms what I've said.

KEY-WORD: CROSS BUY.

Not buying an XB1 for Minecraft, but for those that do purchase the XB1, it's kind of cool.

Article title got my hopes up. That would be nice... but this is understandable.

They are taking it a step farther on XB1. Massive multiplayer worlds, or something to that effect. I will see if it's worth buying, since I have all but completely stopped playing on my Xbox.

pedrof933885d ago (Edited 3885d ago )

This is understandable. OK.

Just buy a PS4.

@Makolevi

"I fully intend on buying a PS4. But I'm getting an Xbox One on launch day. Suck on'dat!"

At least you'l be redeeming yourself... but not at launch. Though you didn't explain the "but this is understandable" part.

malokevi3885d ago

How is it not understandable? If you buy a copy on Xbox360, do you get the PC version? Mobile versions? Ps4 version... where does it end?

Do you just expect handouts, or are you simply making a fuss because this is about Xbox One?

I imagine the latter is true...

I fully intend on buying a PS4. But I'm getting an Xbox One on launch day. Suck on'dat!

malokevi3885d ago (Edited 3885d ago )

Yes, a little unclear. I mean the content of the article title would be nice, aka getting XB1 minecraft for free. But its understandable that they can't do that, considering time/resources go into developing on the X1.

ziggurcat3885d ago

@ malokevi:

"If you buy a copy on Xbox360, do you get the PC version? Mobile versions?"

if sony makes it a cross buy title, then with the purchase of the PS4 version, you likely get the PS3 version or the vita version. possibly even both, depending on how they implement cross buy (if at all) for that game.

DarthJay3885d ago

Can I get it free on PS4 if I have it on 360? What about free on 360 if I have it on PC? No? Who knew?

WeAreLegion3885d ago

I hope the PS4 version has mod support.

coolasj3885d ago

Just slap Cross-Buy on it please. I don't want to quadruple dip for Minecraft -_-

I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name37d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno37d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno37d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure37d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.

Minecraft Bedrock Introduces Official Add-Ons To Marketplace

Minecraft Bedrock is introducing add-ons to the marketplace. The add-ons can now be added to many existing and new worlds.

Jin_Sakai58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

Nice! Next up, shaders on consoles.

“A new update is improving how mods work for Minecraft Bedrock. Mojang has introduced add-ons to the marketplace.”

“These add-ons can now easily be added to new and existing worlds instead of being tied to a single world.
There are plenty of free and paid add-ons that will let you customize just about anything in your world.”

OtterX56d ago

So RayTracing is no longer locked to the NVIDIA maps? I know there was a workaround, but it will be nice to have easier access to all worlds.
