Anyone played the beta? I tried world of planes but wasn't a fan of the death match style versus a more mmo'ish layout. This game nearly the same or a little different?

The two are compared a lot, but I feel it's a bit better.

It has larger battles, longer battles, and Historic mode is very realistic.

Thanks for the info, "longer battles" as you mentioned has me interested. The battles in World of Planes that I played we're ridiculously short.

I don't know about World of Planes, but War Thunder actually has objectives to focus on. It's not just knocking every plane out of the sky, though that helps to achieve the objectives. It's eliminating ground forces and naval forces as well. Some of the games that I have seen have been about 20 minutes or so. Maybe more, maybe less...depending on the teams. In the beta, the ground and naval forces are just bots. From what I understand, the devs want those to be player controlled in the end.

I feel like that would give me the ultimate headache playing this.

Headaches are not a problem, 'motion' sickness or simulation sickness as some people call it is the real problem, but it seems to affect first person shooters the most. I can't play Half Life 2 for more than 5 mins before I need to have a break from strong nausea.

I mean I've never heard of anyone complaining about headaches with the Oculus. All the complaints are based around nausea and low resolution.

Apparently the retail version will be higher res. Also I've been hearing that you can get used to the Oculus so that it no longer causes nausea, or at least its greatly reduced the more you use it.

Its going to be really interesting how this game will be balanced in terms of aerial / ground forces or aerial / naval forces.
Day 1 buy for me and my new-born bouncing baby PS4 :-)
