Titanfall: Developer Interview Shows Possible PS3/PS4 Dev-kit?

You never know, it might not even be possible on PS4 without the cloud infrastructure that MS has. This has already been hinted at by Respawn when Sony didn't come back with a solution to their cloud needs:

A developer like Respawn doesn’t have the kind of weight to get a huge price cut from places like Amazon or Rackspace. 1. Epic Games owns the IP and yes, they could easily, at any given moment, decide not to allow exclusivity of the next Gears of War.

2. Microsoft published every previous Gears of War entry but still doesn't own the IP. Never will, it belongs to Epic, just like Unreal Tournament.

EA decides where their games go, and they don't do full-time exclusives on one platform. Their games will always appear on more than one platform because unless you're new to gaming (which therefore means you really shouldn't be pretending to know what you're talking about), you'd know EA is a *multiplatform* publisher.

Apparently you weren't around this gen when Microsoft started with a bunch timed exclusives and ended with very little exclusive games but a bunch of timed exclusive DLC. Weird? Not really. They're doing the exact same with TitanFall, an IP published by EA, which they'll force onto the PS4 immediately following contract end, lol.

To deny something so obvious very much means you don't know anything about how Xbox does business.

I don't see any reason why Respawn wouldn't bring it to the PS4. What does Respawn gain from keeping it exclusive? The reason why Gears was exclusive was because MS was doing the marketing, manufacturing, etc. for it. This isn't the case for Respawn as EA is doing it this time around. So unless MS is going to write another paycheck for exclusivity after this one expires... Titanfall will be multiplat as keeping it exclusive wouldn't benefit Respawn nor EA at all.

What they mean by that is that it can connect to the internet. That's all you need. You send the server a request and some data and get a response back. There you go, that's cloud computing in a nutshell. It's not rocket science.

Titanfall is not EA's IP - It's Respawn's who are independent. EA is only publishing it under EA Partners program (mainly to stick one up to Activision) but the IP is not theirs.

Will they release the game to every platform? That's up to the developers and the deal they struck with Microsoft. Maybe, maybe not.
Case in point: Left 4 Dead. Externally published by EA, IP owned by valve, nothing to do with Microsoft - and still no PS3 announced for neither L4D1 nor L4D2.

We've similarly seen SC:Conviction and MGS4 platform exclusive and published by third party. Both had their sequels released multiplat, but not these two games.

During the development cycle, Gabe Newell just didn't like the ps3 platform. That's why L4D was exclusive to Xbox. I'm sure Respawn doesn't want to miss out on millions of dollars. After all they are in the EA independent partners program.

Respawn has said time and time again that Titanfall is coming to xb1, xb360 and Windows 8 exclusively. They are making use of MS' cloud on all three platforms... a service that Sony cant even come close to providing at the price or processing speed with any other cloud on this earth.

That's why. I don't expect to see this on PS4 any time soon. Servers are integral to their vision for this game... obviously.

Even the Xbox fanboys know it's coming to PS4. In this case, Microsoft has a contract with EA, a half year to a year, for TitanFall exclusivity. Until then, Respawn will falsely deny the existence of the PS4 version, which we know will come with exclusive DLC and better graphics, in usual EA fashion.

psngamer- I don't spend anywhere near that to keep my PC at a level to play any game on max settings. The last investment I made was in early 2012 for a GTX 680 for $450 after selling my GTX 570 for $300, and prior to that was in 2009 for my i7 860 CPU (which runs at 4ghz overclocked) and Asus p7p55d-deluxe motherboard which was $350 together. But I also sold my previous CPU, a Q6600 w/motherboard and made up $250 of that.

What many people don't factor in when it comes to PC's is that if you don't upgrade everything at once, and avoid waiting too long between upgrades... it doesn't cost very much to keep a PC at a high performance level, especially if you get very good deals on the parts you use.

I'm about to upgrade my CPU/motherboard and currently on ebay i can sell my older i7 860 for $150-170 and $130-150 for the motherboard. And that's ~$300 towards buying the new i7 4770k with Asus Z87-A for $400. So basically $100 to massively upgrade my processor and motherboard some 4 years later.

And when I eventually want to upgrade my graphics, I'll either sell my 680 or get a second card when they've come down in price a lot more. Either way it wont be that much money out of pocket.

Its extremely funny how one camp is arguing a foregone conclusion, MS paid to have Titan Fall exclusive to the 360 and Xbox One for a brief period of time. We know that much since EA is the publisher, however, Titan Fall is the ONLY game in development at Respawn and the fact that a Dualshock appears in a developer video at their studio CONFIRMS the title is more than just a PC xbox/exclusive.

As for Titanfall... it will probably come out for PS4. Electronic Arts is a whore of a company who only cares about money. They've shown in the past that profits are more important than properly finishing games and pissing off the fanbase (see: Mass Effect 3) or simply cannibalizing small developers for rights to popular game series, then dissolving the developer itself. I don't know where the author got possible PS3/4 from because if you look a little closer you can see that there is only a ps3 controller no PS4 controller, and the controller sitting on the book is a Xbox360 controller. Spending money on a timed exclusive isn't good for gamers, it's good for those that are buying an XboxOne and for MS to sell their console. Ultimately if you want to play it first you must buy XboxOne, thus trying to force you to buy their product.

If MS want to be gamer friendly they'd be creating their own new IPs rather than buying up the timed exclusivity of 3rd party developers.

I don't know about the ass kicking part but I do know that EA likes money. Right now COD sells over 10 million just on PS3. Now if the next gen looks that way and this game is just as successful, then at(being conservative) $40 a pop that's $400 million. Obviously, the game won't make that right off but you get the idea. So either the game has to sell really...really good to make up for not releasing on another platform of MS will have to up some serious dough.

On topic: I always knew this could be a timed exclusive since Respawn tried dodging the one question, if it was going to release on PS4 and PS3 and saying it's possible. I for one always stick with what i say . I didn't like mass effect before it comes to the ps3 and i still don't like it. I think halo is over rated and Destiny looks better but still not interested in the style of the game. I loved alan wake/gears 1 before it come to pc and still do . I don't understand "timed" exclusives. It's a half-ass attempt to draw consumers that is an ultimate waste of money for the company. By saying, or speculating that it is indeed coming to PS3/PS4, the PS owners will just wait it out and get it when it arrives. You do realize that when COD became popular, MW and MW2, it was because the games were good. The controls were fluid, I believe those two were in 60fps, and was just generally fun to play with your friends online while still keeping a decent single player experience.

The problem people had with COD was that it didn't evolve, with the jump from MW to MW2 with adjustable killstreaks being the last. This is what it should have evolved in to and the reason why the guys who formed Respawn left Infitiy Ward.

Respawn is not a very big studio, hence the game doesn't have a "real" single-player campaign and wont be released for Sony platforms at release because they lack manpower to work on all platforms at once. Add to that it's under the EA Partners program.

Xbox is the cod platform, so it was an easy choice for Respawn to choose which version to develop first.

It's a given that it will be released for Sony platforms down the line for some extra bucks. EA sure loves that.

Killer Instinct is by Double Helix, not in house at ms last I checked, unless they bought the studio recently, in which case, not a smart acquisition, because all of their games have been pretty bad...Dead Rising 3 is capcom, obviously not an in house, Titanfall is Respawn, not in house, Ryse is crytek, not in house..the list goes on and on....the only games from in house studios in production that I know of for now is kinect sports by rare, halo 5 by 343, and a title in development by the new company Black Tusk...Microsoft lost their show pony with bungie, and Rare have not been their normal great selves in terms of quality since they were purchased by Microsoft, I hear great things about Black Tusk, but they are still unproven at this point...I'm not trying to be a fanboy or a dick, but I honestly can't think of many solid first party Microsoft studios at this point, when Sony has many that have put out incredible games this gen, like Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Sucker Punch, Media Molecule, Guerilla Games, Ready at Dawn (not necessarily in house, but not working elsewhere, same with quantic dream) and somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 or more others confirmed to be working on next gen titles....

Everybody except the Xbot fanboys in denial know that Activision ain't gonna limit there sales to just one console. Any moron knows EA & Activision...oh & Capcom will switch from supposed exclusitivity in a heartbeat. My thoughts are this, Seeing that Respawn is developing the game and EA is publishing the game. Microsoft most likely paid for the right to have Titanfall first, EA wants all the money they can get and not including the Playstation brand would be retarded for a business stand point...
