‘Rime’ Looks Like ‘ICO’ Meets ‘Windwaker’ on PS4

Sony’s Gamescom conference unveiled a lot of creative new titles for PS Vita and PS4, almost two dozen in total. One that caught a lot of peoples attention was Rime from Tequila Works, makers of last year’s PC and 360 shooter Deadlight.

The trailer hypotized me, just like that of Murasaki Baby did. Sony's indie library is shaping up to be amazing.

forcefullpower3889d ago

This game looks really good. Definitely on my list to purchase.

MWong3889d ago

Agreed, this game looks amazing. I love the look and concept of the game. This is a huge step from Deadlight.

wingman32x3890d ago

This was the game that grabbed my attention during the show. All of the other games tried to stand out in their own ways, but this is the one that really made me take notice.

Can't wait to hear more info on it. I hope it's going to be a big game with a good story to it. The art style and environments are great, though.

Hicken3890d ago

I'd agree if it added SotC to the mix. A lot of the designs- that bridge, particular- evoke memories of epic battles against enormous stone adversaries.

user74029313890d ago

i liked shadows artwork. it had a paint style to it. it was humble.

Enemy3890d ago

And it's open world. Had no idea this one even existed until Gamescom. Looks gorgeous.

Sevir3890d ago

its quite impressive! I love the look and it was one of the best looking indie titles that they showed off, and I can't wait to play it next year!

I'd put Street Fighter 2 over 3. 2 and all its different versions dominated the arcade scene back in the day in a way that 3 never did.

Abear21166d ago

Agreed, Same with Metal Gear Solid imo. Came for Bioshock and was not disappointed. Would easily put Burger Time or Space Taxi over tempest. Also, OG Sim City and Oregon Trail. Mario 64 as well. Just too many!

Abear21166d ago

Never played it I gotta get on this one

Double_O_Revan166d ago

Me too. I didn't have a GC until way later and never played it. I've been waiting on Nintendo to release the HD edition on the Switch for forever, but they just won't!

FinalFantasyFanatic166d ago

I never bought a Gamecube, I've always had an urge to play this game, maybe it'll get a remaster in the future.

LoveSpuds165d ago

I played it on WiiU for the first time and it remains my fave Zelda game to date. So much character and a real sense of exploration without the open world bloat.

Petebloodyonion166d ago

Ms Pacman?
Robotron?
SSF2 Turbo over 3 simply by the 10000000000's ports of the game we're still having
Castlevania SOTN?
Zelda Link to the Past over Wind Waker
Super Mario Bros 3?
Chrono Trigger?
Resident evil4?
COD MW2 (the original)?
Uncharted 2
Metal Gear Solid?

Here's my reasoning for all of them versus the list proposed in the article.
They are still quite enjoyable from start to finish on their original platform, unlike some Wind Waker or Okami that are fun when you play the remastered version (unless you call: forced to watch a 20-minute cutscene or have to blow for wind chance constantly fun).
Some of them are the pinnacle of what the console could do (MGS, Chrono, MGS)
Lots of them are still considered the go-to-go game for their genre.

Said it before but Heart of Darkness is truly a timeless gem.

A good number of these games are pretty well-known in the gaming community. I don't know who this 'no one' is, but they might not have been a gamer during the time of the PS2. ICO? The Warriors? BULLY?!? C'mon now.

FullmetalRoyale287d ago

Certainly not as interesting as a spoon controversy, right?

Terry_B288d ago

Not one of these is pretty "forgotten". But what you can forget are bad lists that need 15 clicks.

Terry_B287d ago

edit..why the fuck was this shit approved by 2 guys after all?

luckytrouble287d ago

Because the approval system is fundamentally flawed. The amount shouldn't decrease for approval over time, nobody should be able to have more than one vote, and pending content should be more visible so those measures don't feel necessary to push through less immediately popular pieces.

The number of ways this system can be intentionally or accidentally abused so crap like this can get through has been ridiculous for ages now.

Petebloodyonion288d ago

The title is misleading, it should be 15 best ps2 that you always ignored (hence the title of the video).
These games are not unknow but often left out when talking PS2 great game.
The warrior is a great game but let's be frank just mention it in a discussion amongs friends and half the crowd will go " OMG I forgot about that! "

Christopher286d ago

I think that's just a factor of time. Most movies from the 80s/90s that are great are like that with me as well. They're still great, just been so much between now and then that you can't keep it all at the forefront of your mind.

banger88288d ago

15 games on 15 pages? F*** that. I'll save you a click:

The Thing
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
Deus Ex: The Conspiracy
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly
Twisted Metal Black
ICO
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Transformers
Silent Hill 4: The Room
Red Dead Revolver
War of the Monsters
XIII
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
The Warriors
Bully

Agreed. Some heroes put on their pants one leg at a time like the rest of us. Thank you.

MrNinosan287d ago

I remember and know all the game exceot War of the Monsters...
But maybe my name is "no one"

Phoenix76287d ago

Last time I checked (a year ago) War of the Monsters was available to buy as a ps2 classic on the ps store. Know I've still got my disc copy and fairly sure it's in my digital library

This video game journalist must not know any gamers, not be on any gaming sites, and is probably young only know of these games because of an older sibling.

None of those games are forgotten and most are spoken of fondly fairly often.
