Just in time for Christmas, makes sense.

...Unless Sony is having supply issues, I can see them pushing the JPN release to Q1 2014.

GreatGamePlay3896d ago

Japan could get them in 15 November. PS4 manufactured Japan.

I'm confused about something. One PS4 is made in Japan and the other in China.

And when you look at the date it says Manufactured: May 2013.

Did they really start making them in may? And why would they make them in two regions instead of one?

Because they knew they were going to sell alot of units and so they prepared.. DUHHHH!!!

majiebeast3896d ago (Edited 3896d ago )

I think its gonna be

15 US

22 JAP

29 EU

But for any answers we have to wait for TGS.

FamilyGuy3896d ago

Jack already said they're focusing on the west this time so there's no way it's launching at the same time as the U.S.

I don't expect them to make Japan wait some super long time but the U.S. and Canada are definitely the only ones getting it on Nov 15th.

abzdine3895d ago

that would be insane.. now i am asking those lazy ass japanese developers to show that they still care about making great games at TGS and/or at the september 9th presentation.

I wanna see TLG, Shenmue, a next gen Dragon Quest...

kreate3895d ago

When u buy it in japan. Its made in japan.

When u buy it anywhere else, its made in china.

@MasterCornholio

Welcome to the world of hardware manufacture. This has happened for years for many different types of products.

For the PS at least, the JPN models are made in JPN and everywhere else gets the worldwide manufacturer.

They don't celebrate Christmas over there so releasing it then doesn't give an advantage. If they do though its damn impressive for Sony. They much have so much stock.

dcj05243895d ago

You don't celebrate the japanese holiday of CHRIATMASASU?

360ICE3895d ago

Japanese Christmas. Also known as Christmasuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

jessupj3895d ago

I think Sony are being smart this time. The west is a very important market, and I can tell Sony wants to dominate in those areas, specifically the US.

I was very surprised to hear that Japan hasn't got a release date yet. This is purely speculation, but I'm betting Sony is going to be allocating A LOT of PS4s to the US while possible sacrificing a little in other areas. They know MS will be desperately fighting for the US consumer as well. The demand is there and they just need the stock, because they know if they run out and the X1 is sitting there, people are likely to impulse buy. Especially parents and non-gamers shopping on black friday and for Christmas presents.

I see both Sony and MS aggressively targeting the US market.

Man how things have changed.

I wonder if the Vita will see another surge in sales after the PS4 releases in Japan.

We all now how well handhelds do in Japan, and when you consider PS4's remote play

function and how small Japan is with Wifi probably everywhere, it's win win.

cero553896d ago

we also have to consider the fact that barely any Japanese games have been announced, hopefully tgs will change that.

Kayant3896d ago

If true then Sony have planned their launch extremely well to support so many countries at launch is quite amazing.

C-Thunder3896d ago

TGS, expect a date and some titles popular with the Asian markets.
