Within a few weeks, 505 Games and Starbreeze's new multiplayer co-op shooter Payday 2 will probably be a legitimately fun and deep online experience, despite minor gameplay reservations. But at this stage, the crime.net servers and matchmaking system is just too broken and unplayable to get any serious mileage out of the game.
GB: "Of course, Payday 2 has had its fair share of ups and downs as well, in spite of the success that it has enjoyed. For starters, the disparity between the game’s PC and console versions is a major issue that plagued the game for years on end, thanks to the frustrating optimization issues across platforms brought about by the Diesel Engine, which the game was developed on."
Payday 2 launched 10 years ago today, and a constant stream of updates still makes it worth playing ahead of Payday 3.
Starting today, Payday 2 is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offer runs until June 15. Once you claim it, it's yours to keep.
Weird. I've been playing on 360 since last Thursday and never had a problem finding a game or getting people to join me.
The game is freaking awesome, sounds like they need to fix the PS3 version, though.
It's the same on the PC even on the latest patch #6 the matchmaking is still terrible. Takes me at least 30 mins to get in a game, once I'm in it's great but its so hard to get in a game without loosing connection with all the different server errors.
Haven't had any of the public game issues, due to playing with three of my closest friends online, rather than having to play with randoms :) the game does have a few niggles, here are there, but overall, it is a game that provides tons of fun, especially if you play with friends
