Gazondaily3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

I wish I brought extra pants....:'(

Oh far we have come!

stage883899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

Woah, they sure know how to build hype!

This video explains very clearly why I'll always pick PlayStation every time.

ShinMaster3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

That video summarizes the one of the biggest reasons why I'm getting a PS4.

Seriously, how can people hate PlayStation, a brand that defined modern gaming as we know it?

pixelsword3899d ago

Oh, Sony, I swallowed some of your awesome when you squirted it on my face!

abzdine3899d ago

PlayStation is the best thing ever!

RioKing3899d ago

This video brought a big smile to my face. SO amazing.

LOL_WUT3899d ago

That video blew my face off! Nicely done. ;)

Video gave me chills. I can't wait!

fardan853899d ago

The vid brought so many awesome memories.
The first MGS, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Crash, GT, then on PS2, we got GOW, GT, Jack, then on PS3 we got TLOU, MGS, GT, Uncharted..etc
So many great times.
Gaming on PS since the 1990s.

PSjesus3899d ago

am i the only one who get emotional seeing PS1 era games,God it was good times to grew up long live PS

I_am_Batman3899d ago

I know what you mean. I started gaming on the Sega Genesis and SNES but I'd say I grew up with playstation. I feel a lot of nostalgia especially with the PS1 games. It's like travelling back in time.

Gardenia3899d ago

I know. I would trade the best graphics for the good old games of the 90s. Seeing FFVII and MGS almost makes me wanna cry

Psn8003899d ago

More like a huge leap forward .

Spenok3899d ago

Seriously. This video really shows how much not only Sony, but the industry as a whole has progressed. What a great video.

trancefreak3899d ago

Man that montage was awesome. Evolutionary and revolutionary IMO. Awesome sh1t can't wait for my PS4.

The closer we get to launch the more I can't wait. I am like a kid on Xmas eve.

MWong3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

Agreed, I can't believe how gaming technology has advanced.

Inception3899d ago

Same here. From PS1,PS2,PS3,and now PS4. From 1996 (i play PS1 the 1st time in 1996 when i still in middle school) to 2013. It's 17 years! Man, great times really fly eh? ^^

ZBlacktt3899d ago

From the PS1? Yikes, I'm dirt then. :(

t3rrorc3ll3899d ago

From the Atari 2600 here. I am feeling old

ZBlacktt3899d ago

^^^ Yeah, still have that one here at the house. My Intellisvision I have was my first console. But my oldest I still have is the Mattel handheld football game from 1978. I was doing a lot of acrades/ 7/11's back around that time before we got our first console in 1982. But yeah, times have changed.

Rhythmattic3899d ago (Edited 3899d ago )

Guess Im also an Old gaming Fossil....
My first console was a Hanimex 777.. Dem Graphiks !!

Inception3899d ago

@ZBlacktt

Actually, i'm the same with t3rrorc3ll. My 1st video game experience is with Atari 2600. Ugh, suddenly i'm feeling my hair going white T_T

iiwii3899d ago

I still have a Bally Astrocade. But yeah, graphics have come a really long way.

ZBlacktt3899d ago

Bubbles to the Old Gaming Crew.

iceman063899d ago

The first video game I owned was a Pong rip-off. Then, I played my friend's Atari 2600. Then, when I went to visit my father, I just took his Intellivision and gave him a crap load of guilt for even suggesting that he might get it back! So, I can relate to the Old Gaming Crew...OGC...sounds like a good clan tag!?! LOL

BoriboyShoGUN3898d ago

Yep I started out on the old Atari as well. But what the hell was the "Hanimex 777" @Rhythmattic

Inception3898d ago (Edited 3898d ago )

@ZBlacktt

That's why i'll keep my current consoles, and someday show it to my childrens so they don't become ungratefull bastards when they saw all this classic gems. Even if they had matrix-5D-holographic gaming console or something in that era ^^

Oh, Old Gaming Crew / OGC sounds cool and thx for the bubbles. I bubs+ for you and all OGC too ^^

@Iceman06

Lol yeah. Maybe i will make an association of video games with name like that. The purpose is to collect all video games consoles / games, especially the classic one. And to teach next generation of gamer to be gratefull when they saw classic video games XD

Rhythmattic3898d ago (Edited 3898d ago )

BoriboyShoGUN

Because you asked I went to find a link....

Cheers to the old gamers.

ZBlacktt3898d ago (Edited 3898d ago )

Yes, I have the consoles around the house still. I have a Kinect XBox alos. But the kids use that. I'm more a Playstation guy since the PS1.

A few of the games I keep near me.

I was PC gaming back in 1982 as well. On the Apple II, IIc and IIe. Our first home PC was the Radio Shack Tandy 1000. Man, was that a nightmare to have/use, lol.

NateCole3898d ago

Played defenders on Atari until it restarted from level one after i beat all. My first console game.

Quicktopick3898d ago (Edited 3898d ago )

@old gaming crew

gaelic_laoch3899d ago

Great Video, proves also that now dev's have the tools and have no excuses for not pushing the boundaries!

ZodTheRipper3898d ago

Say that to Activision or EA lol

Inception3899d ago

Yeah. And looking at your avatar, that game was one of Squaresoft good old days. The time when they still produced golden eggs, that people willing to give all their wallet just to buy it.

leahcim3899d ago

Squaresoft = Gems producer hands down
Enix = Jewels producers hands down

SQUARE-ENIX = worst mistake in the history of videogames

The original PlayStation library has dozens of classics long since forgotten - TechStomper unearths five of these gems which have been lost to time for one reason or another.

Disruptor PS1, a pre Goldeneye console FPS from 1996 (with Command and Conquer type FMV cutscenes) and the first game by a pre Spyro Insomniac Studios directed by Mark Cerny. A good game for its time, and pre Bioshock use of telekinesis type powers. A game sadly almost completely lost to time

PrimeVinister12d ago

I have never even heard of it, so that must be a deep cut. Sounds really interesting and I might dig it out :-)

PrimeVinister12d ago

@Cacabunga A classic, no doubt. But, fondly remembered by many.

Cacabunga12d ago

First one was so good but second one on another level!!!
Still hoping to see a next gen version..

PrimeVinister12d ago

@Cacabunga Yeah, I preferred II for the real-timier combat. I would love to see both remade or remastered.

on_line_forever11d ago

We need to bring back the golden era of ps1 & ps2 .
We need to see quality games developed with alot of passion to make gamers satisfied .
We need to benefit from new AI technology to bring something new to games something like " nemesis systems " that used in shadow of morder and upgrade it to next level

PrimeVinister11d ago

The economics of games has changed a lot since the PS1 and PS2. As much as I would love a return to those days, it's not not at all likely.

gurp291d ago

played them all when they came out, they are great games

DarXyde290d ago

I feel slighted by that. With the exception of Air Combat... I've also played all of these games and beaten them (except Fear Effect).

Not all at launch, of course. I don't really remember if I got any that early on.

SimpleSlave291d ago

Terrible list. While a lot of these are legit gems they're also well known.

GhostScholar290d ago

Tail Concerto sold 150,000 copies world wide ……I’d say it’s pretty unknown

SimpleSlave290d ago

"A lot of these" = Not ALL of them...

Air Combat - Ace Combat 1
Fear Effect - The sequel is more of a hidden gem
Vagrant Story - Probably the best looking PS1 game of all time and constantly brought up
Dino Crisis - Constantly asked to be remade. Especially now that Capcom is on a Remake warpath
Persona 2 - Seriously?
Parasite Eve 1 - The sequel is more of a hidden gem
Soul Blade - Only the Soulfreakingcalibur prequel

Are in no way shape or form "hidden gems". Great games for sure but hardly hidden. Some of these are prequels to highly famous or regarded series and the others are constantly being talked about and petition for sequels/remakes to be made.

Here's 10 from my list of hidden gems:
The Divide: Enemy Within
In Cold Blood
Echo Night
Loony Tunes: Sheep Raider
Blaster Master: Blasting Again
MDK
Rising Zen: The Samurai Gunman
Vanark
Silhouette Mirage
G-Police 1 & 2

Extra:
Policenauts - Because reasons...

And there are many more.

DarXyde290d ago

MDK!

I loved MDK! I had it for Dreamcast. Clever use of face buttons in place of an absent second analog stick.

Great list, by the way, mate.

GhostScholar290d ago

Also you can name drop persona 2 but it wasn’t til 3 that the series took off. Persona 2 peaked at #60 in Japan where it’s most popular.

gold_drake291d ago

ahhhh parasite eve, koudelka, persona 1 and dino crisis.

good games :)

Number1TailzFan291d ago

I liked the style of the original Oddworld games, Alien Trilogy was a little underrated as well IMO.. Basically a lot like Doom but with aliens. There were a lot of great games on the PS1 though.

LiViNgLeGaCY291d ago

Here's my top ten hidden gems.

Silhouette Mirage, Threads of Fate, Koudelka, Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Tail Concerto, Blasto, Silent Bomber, T.R.A.G, Trap Gunner, and Tiny Tank.

All great hidden gems that I 100% recommend.
