There is another console that already had everything I did like and isn't changing its mind every other week like a high school girl. Why do you think that the Xbox One hasn't even gone into production yet and downsized their release. They haven't been approved to go into production and I see them pushing back the release date.

5 Reasons to get an Xbox One if:

#1 You're an Xbox fan.
#2 You're an Xbox fan.
#3 You're used to its "community".
#4 You want Halo
#5 You want Gears(?)

I can't think of any other legitimate reason to do so.
And when people claim they're excited for the TV features and Kinect... I don't buy it. Who are you trying to fool, son?!

Otherwise, personally, the smarter choice for me is PS4.
It's cheaper. It's powerful. Sony has proven to consistently support their consoles with great exclusives all the way to the end. I prefer the games on it. PS Plus. And friends, of course.

Number one being the lack of first party games after year one. You're also better off playing the same games on PC, just like with the 360.

I agree, i can remember the backlash at the original price point for the PS3 but the PS3 has gone from strength to strength. Obviously there were a few hiccups cough* Data leak cough* but some great experiences as well.

ps3 had free online though and exclusives that weren't match by any other console. Microsoft cant compete with that. Now both consoles charge for online which wont make a big difference. Sony also has an advantage worldwide where Microsoft just has a strong presence in the US. Sony is in the best place to Dominate next Gen.

MS is still known for having the edge when it comes to online features for xbl (while psn plus is great value for what you pay thanks to the free games collection)

MS are investing 1 billion dollars exclusively for games and if the recent E3 is anything to go by, the signs are suggesting that they are focusing on core games again. The only thing remains is if that support will continue through the xbone lifespan.

the reason i'm not buying xbox one is because they've made no real attempt to pull indie devs. it's like they don't care about anything that's not a AAA blockbuster game like halo or call of duty. that tells me a lot about a company that's involved in games. GAMES are more than just AAA games. not every game that releases is going to have cod or halo success. some of the best games i've played this gen were indie games. and some of the games i'm anticipating most are indie games.

that's just me. i'm not a fanboy. i'm not schizophrenic. i'm just a guy who enjoys playing games.

Seriously, some of you have the DUMBEST reasons not to buy one. Not to mention almost all trolls.

- Batteries: Are you too stupid to buy rechargeable batteries that last for years and can be used for multiple devices? Only a fool would continue to buy batteries. Enjoy sitting 2 ft from the TV while your controller charges, I'll get 2 recharged batteries and go back to sitting wherever I want, cordless.

- More expensive: You can afford $400, cause thats cheap, but $500 is outrageous? By the time your done buying games and accessories your looking in the $600 range for a POS4. But spending $100 more for a system is mind blowing.

-Weaker system: Since when do specs matter? Look at the POS3. Way better specs then 360, yet the 360 sells better. Cross platform games look identical. So just cause it's more powerful doesn't mean it's better.

-Microsoft: What company isn't trying to make money? Thats why a company exists. Getting mad at them because they want to charge you for things. What a concept. How dare they make a profit. I guess Sony charging for online is OK though. You must hate bottled water companies who charge you for something you could drink for free.....water.

-Apps and features behind paywall: Who buys a game system for the apps? No one. Thats why you have a tablet, PC, or smart phone. Mostly everythings behind a paywall now and Live has millions more subscribers then POS+. And your free sub-pay gaming is now going to cost you, enjoy that.

-Children play Xbox: Really? More children play Wii and POS then the Xbox.

-VCR look and power brick: The power supply keeps you from buying a system? Lol. POS4 doesn't look any better. Looks like uneven flooring tile.

I could say the reason I'm not buying a POS4 is that it's ugly, the controller blows, no truly new games, PS+ is a joke, no innovation just some new hardware and a new shell, and it's expensive ($400/$500, its still not cheap). But I'm not getting one so I dont care and I wouldn't troll on a Sony topic just so I could share my stupidity with POS fans.

The main reason people buy consoles are the games. Both console are more than good enough to play games well. The console that has the games and features that people like will sell the most. But the "main" reason, isn't always a specific persons reason. I wouldn't say it's "the" main reason, I'd say it's "a" main reason.

Personally, exclusives do nothing for me, on either console. I'm not salivating with a hard-on anticipating the next Halo or Killzone or Uncharted. Granted, I play them (sometimes), but they don't get any extra attention in comparison to multiplats that can be played on either console - they actually tend to get less, so in response to your statement:

"The console that has the games and features that people like will sell the most."

The games my friends and I spend any amount of dedicated time with, are multiplats, so as far as games go, that's either console, that leaves leaves features, which is why I went with Xbox. XBL and the controller alone are enough to keep me. I can't stand the PS controller, and I also dislike their OS/Dashboard. Their games are whatever, since anything I'm remotely interested in playing, can be played on xbox, and it also doesn't have a list of friends waiting to play games with me, which xbox does. PS4 simply does not offer anything to me to warrant a purchase. When it came time to decide on a new console, for me, it was never an issue of "xbox or PS4," it was an issue of "do I get an xbox or not?"

I had a couple of friends pick up PS3's to play DUST, and after around a week, one of my close gaming friends was back on XBL. I asked him how the the game was, and he said the game was pretty good, but PSN was abysmal, specifically pointing out the absence of features like cross-game chat - he hasn't gone back since. As for the rest of them, one of hem stayed with PS due to personal disputes between him and MS concerning his account, and the rest jump between both consoles.

Point taken, i just feel that in my opinion the Xbox One launch fell short in many peoples opinions, but it have since done a sterling job in winning over the crow.

My point about the PS3 launch is suggesting that even though a console might not have a great reveal, it is the next few years when the battle is really won or lost!

I should also add that i haven't currently pre-ordered an Xbox One only a PS3 although intend to change that soon.

In the last few years Microsoft have put out a ton of Kinect games and few core games.
How do I know MS are not going to do the same again or completely drop support like they did with the original xbox? It's too much of a risk.

@stage88.....you're right Microsoft hasn't been putting out big name exclusives at retail but you guys keep ignoring the fact that they put tons of games on Xbox live (which that picture doesn't show). Then you guys continue too ignore the fact that Microsoft was practically sh**ing out exclusive games during the first five years of the X360 lifecycle so of course the exclsives are going to dry up towards the end. Then you turn to look at Sony and the PS3. At launch the PS3 had a very weak lineup of games, they had few decent games but it was still a weak lineup. The first 2-3 years of the PS3 lifecycle Sony had very little to no worthwhile exclusives. It wasn't till 2010(which your picture shows) when Sony finally started putting out a more consistent stream of decent exclusives. That was almost halfway through the PS3 lifecycle. Don't even get me started on the PS Vita that damn thing been out for almost two years and the best games Sony has for it is Uncharted and Gravity Rush.

So you tell me which company is more of a risk. The company who supports its systems from day ONE, or the company that makes you wait 2-3 years for more decent games?

This thing is the PS3 is the exception with Sony rather than the rule. Yes the first 2 years were bleak because of devs finding it hard to learn the exotic hardware. If you look at PS1 and PS2 they both had solid games throughout their whole life cycles so I can definitely get on board with this track record. With PS4 being touted as the 'new PS2' I don't see a problem here.

The handheld market is completely different to the console market. It's struggling due to the boom, cheaper price and ease of iOS/Android gaming. The 3DS is a huge success now but remember all those doom and gloom articles it had about no games? Well, Sony are at that stage at the moment and will soon be out of it with the emergence of AAA games such as Killzone Mercenary, Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice.

I'd rather have the console that started off slow (even though I don't think the PS4 will) and then by the end of the generation have devs that have fully unlocked the power to show it's brilliance. This is why PS3 gamers got such masterpieces like 'The Last of Us' while 360 owners where kicking their heels.

Dont get me wrong i like the xb1 it had some better sweet ass line up of games but the way microsoft has been handling things is unfair and uncalled for.

The issue with Microsoft is that they simply don't have the same high quality first-party developers that Sony has at its disposal. Only a handful of half-decent exclusives (we don't even know if games like TitanFall and Dead Rising 3 are exclusive yet) and a higher price point is hardly appealing when faced with Sony's cheaper, more powerful, and better supported console. I'm not against getting an Xbox One at some point down the line but I need to know that timed exclusivity on Call of Duty DLC isn't all I'm getting for my dollar.

Yeah well this idea that the 360 controller is better for shooters is lame. Most people say that because thats all they know. Try playing COD with the PS3 controller. Its much more comfortable and easier to aim. Another myth that xbots love to brag about is that only the 360 controller works on PCs. Wrong. Dualshock 3 works with PC also, just download DS3 tool or MotionJoy (I can't remember the exact name.)

1) A great track record isn't one good gen, where it still sold worse than the competitors, and fewer AAA exclusives.
2) Titanfall will simply be COD with robots. And it will likely come to PS4.
3) The 180 shows that all people want is a PS4. Every change has made it more and more like a PS4, while it is still more expensive and weaker than a ps4.
4) PS4 can do those things too.
5) Just because the launch of a different console, by a different company, in a different time, with better specs for the time, and more features that any other console had a crappy launch, doesn't mean it will happen with every other console. Hint, a bad launch isn't good. PS3 succeeded out of luck becuase a lot of games were launched in 2008.
