Judging from what I’m reading. We’re looking at a AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor, so including everything you posted. The price of this PC would stand somewhere just under $2,000.

PS4 will have nice specs for what it is.

But it won't compare to this rig.

PS4 has a slower CPU with a low clock speed because of HSA. The CPU will be used for the most basic of things. However, because the games will be multi-threaded, you don't really need a super-high IPC for basic things like A.I. and positions of objects on the map, etc. The GPU will handle the visual things, the textures, the usual, as well as physics, taking nice loads off the CPU.

But no, the PS4 won't get you the "same result" as a ~$2000+ gaming rig. You pay for what you get most of the time.

You actually really don't need to honestly. The PC at gamescom and other conventions are built towards the idea of SLI and other configurations that aren't really necessary, but are fun to look at. Meaning they may have a lot of LED case fans, a lot of graphics cards that have SLI attached to them, when in reality having just a single one uses up less energy and just buying a better one in general is better. They also have higher case fans which cost around 200-300 dollars and so on. I think you get the point. Battlefield 3 could be easily played on a 1,200 dollar desktop or even less if you have a room that's friggin ice cold.

I'm not entirely understanding this getup. The C70 is around 140 bucks. Then it has SLI and my guess being that it's not EVGA, but more so AMD, but why not just get a better graphics card in general. I really wish this article told us the exact specs rather than providing a picture and having us guess the specs.

You are such a fucking derp. Almost all PCs run GDDR5 for graphic cards and DDR3 system RAM. Xbone doesn't have GDDR5 for graphics, and PS4 doesn't have DDR3 for system.

I can max out BF3 at 1080p with 4xAA at 60Fps

Oh and in total cost about £1200 converted to USD $1850 however we get charged higher prices in the UK, have higher Taxes and don't get rebates.

So I'd say $1500 for my PC if build in USA

Edit: Just priced a PC with almost identical specs for $1214.87 was $1373.90 before rebates and discounts.
We in the UK get shafted YAY

TABSF, you do know that the PS4 cpu pushes more gflops then a i5 2500k don't you.

I know i have the same cpu.

Topend is 94gflops for that cpu, PS4 cpu is 104gflops.

7870 is very close to PS4 gpu.

I'm guessing BF4 will be 60fps on PS4 at 1080p with it's own aa solution.

GFLOPs is a computational calculation, doesn't mean its got higher performance.

AMD FX 8350 Piledriver was their flagship CPU it has about double the performance of the AMD Jaguar found in PS4 and XB1.

Pretty much every Intel Core i5 since 2010 is better than AMD FX 8350, so how will a laptop/ low end desktop CPU compete with that?

Hopefully I don't have issues running it, I7 2600K with 8 GB Ram and SSD drives, dual Graphic cards in SLI mode. But when BF3 launched I had crashes until they patched the game. This and Titanfall look good.

You firstly don't need any of the cards I've stated above to play BF4 and certainly not need spend crazy money.
This was a showcase PC to show partnership with EAs BF4 partnership with AMD called promoting while tryin to sell AMD products.
A midrange card would suffice with a little tuning in graphics settings.
