USgamer: "Is the Metal Gear series throwing away its heritage and personality by latching onto concepts from more successful games? Or is it all part of Hideo Kojima's master plan?"
Whether it's showcasing damage realistically or simulating fractures and conditions, these games are worth checking out.
The Metal Gear series has sold 60.2 million copies, as of September 2023.
...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is another rollercoaster of a game in the Metal Gear Solid series. Here's what to expect and why you need to experience it.
Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.
The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.
Comment from the article:
"MGS has always felt like it was blazing its own path with every iteration. MGS5 seems like its no different. Despite the obvious allusions to Assassin's Creed and maybe even Red Dead, MGS5 still looks like its a product from its creator rather than the design by committee creation you feel from other AAA titles."
Exactly. MGS is in a league of its own. I don't particularly understand what MGS takes from AC though. But I will admit that V looks a little like RDR (traveling-wise).
I felt it was a good read though I don't really get what metal gear is taking from assasins creed at all really. We don't see snake stabbing people from roofs or free running around cities. They both do their own thing IMO.
Im sorry but MGS has always and will always stand on it's own. Kojima has a signiture style of game creation that no one else in the world has and to all the people saying that MGSV is copying Red Dead Redemption are ridiculous. Rockstar games does not own the rights to desert environments and horse riding. Im sick of people thinking so 1 dimensional about video games.
MGS5 looks to be a stunner of a game. As much as the story line is, well...out there I do enjoy the action and scale of it.
I will definitely have this for the 360, or Xbox One is it's released for the next gen systems.
This is a definite PS4 buy ONLY!
Anything else will be a step below.
