... I smell bullshit.

I don't believe for a second that this is real if I'm honest. "Mega evolution"? What is this, Digimon? I know that I'd get used to the designs and what it, but it doesn't mean that I like them. They look too similar to their previous forms and they've plan and simple f*cked Lucario up...

Summons753912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

It's really all going to come down to how they incorporate them into the story. If they bring it up as "oh hey, these existed the entire time but only here" like they did with some of the new evolutions of gen one pokemon the past couple gens, yeah it's bull. However if the story has anything to do with DNA manipulation like rumors and the titles suggest then it could work if it's like an alternate form because of an dna enhancing/ changing item.

MewTwo was a clone so he by default cannot evolve or have offspring but it would make sense that he (or someone) found a way to bring out even more power through DNA manipulation making an alternate form or evolution.

EDIT: just look at the DNA splicer from Black/White2 which made Kyrum even stronger.

We'll have to see how this plays out but I honestly really like these "mega forms" of older Pokemon like the Lucario one.

As odd and unfitting I feel "Mega Evolutions" are in Pokemon, I cant help but want to see MegaForms of Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, and Raichu

Majin-vegeta3912d ago

Actually this is the real deal.

You can read about it right here. http://www.serebii.net/inde...

GeckoPutt3912d ago

That it is. I'm not sure how I feel about it if I'm honest. If this is simply an I'm battle transformation activated by an item in combination with a move etc. then that wouldn't be too bad and I might actually go with the idea, if these Pokémon were entirely new Pokémon with separate entries in the Pokédex and they kept these lazy names and designs as entirely new Pokémon, I'd throw a f**king Miltank.

Slowbrosef3912d ago

@Geckoputt im pretty sure they do not have their own entries in the pokedex. They are in battle transformations the reason i feel comfortable saying that is because blaziken with eviolite would be so hax and i know they know that.

Toadsanime3912d ago

They're CoroCoro magazine scans, of course it's real.

I imagine the titles 'Pokémon X and Y' were named as such in reference to the new Mega evolutions after all anyway, refering to the X and Y chromosomes in relation to the DNA splice-enabling mega evolutions.

GeckoPutt3912d ago

You seem to have missed my follow-up comment in reply to this. I realise that it was confirmed real. I was initially hesitant to believe due to the mass of fake scans that have been prevalent on the internet in regards to Pokémon X and Y. Whilst it looked like a CoroCoro magazine scan, it could've easily been made by a skilled photoshopper. Either way, I realise it's been confirmed.

I also believe that it is the main reason that X and Y was named as such. It's interesting that they were to take this plot path considering this will be the third time they've confronted the idea of DNA splicing after Mew/Mewtwo and Genesect.

_QQ_3912d ago

These look like shit, they just added a bunch of stripes spikes, hair, and extensions, the mewtwo one is cool because it is simple, but that Lucario one,and even worse the Raichu....

GeckoPutt3912d ago

That's an entirely new Pokémon. It's nothing to do with Raichu; I'd imagine it's our Generation VI "cute mouse-like Pokémon" like Pichu, Plusle & Minun, Pachirisu, and Emolga.

ABizzel13912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

OMG I wonder if they get stat changes, because if so they're going to be so overpowered.

Blaziken is already uber thanks to Speed Boost, now image it gets more power (they should have did Charizard instead and made it Fire / Dragon making it a UU Reshiram).

Lucario is about to be Uber, Absol needs the evo, lord knows Mawile needed it, but if it gets and attack boost with Huge Power it can be broken, Ampharos needed and evo as well.

This is interesting.

Also we may have our first Dark Gym leader with the skull helmet.

Mr_Pinky3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

Why are they ruining Pokemon like this, why are they messing with first gen Pokemon. If they want to add a new evolution to Pokemon who haven't got a third form then fair enough but come on "Mega" evolution. As someone has said above, what is this...Digimon.

Please don't tell me that orange mouse looking Pokemon is Raichu's next evolution. Pikachu is a cute pokemon, your supposed to make us want to evolve it into something that looks better, it's why many people didn't evolve their Pikachu in their Pokemon game

Oh and why is Blazakin one of them, it's a starter Pokemon, you can't mess with starters.

Urgh...what have they done

Slowbrosef3912d ago

they are not actually evolutions they are closer to form changes, Its not surprising they would choose blaziken they pretty much establish his transition into a Legendary (Uber) from gen 5. and lucario is like somebody important's favorite pokemon since he gets every move he could ever want. And yeah that last one isnt supposed to be raichu just the new "electric cheeks" animal that is standard now.

Making Pokémon 3D Was A Mistake

Pokémon’s shift to 3D was a big mistake, as the series’ roots in 2D design make it difficult to transfer important game mechanics into a 3D overworld.

why do other games pull off 3D monster collecting JRPG games just fine? Look at Jade Cocoon and Shin Megami Tensei for examples.

Answer should be obvious.

No other videogame franchise is as merchandise driven as Pokémon

Nintendo 3DS Games We Still Love Playing Even Today

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

When Will The Pokemon Company Introduce a New Typing?

The Pokemon Company has a solid thing going right now. Well, it’s been going on for a while, actually, but it has been a while since a new typing has been introduced to the popular monster-taming series. The latest one, Fairy type, was introduced back in Generation VI (Pokemon X & Y), so it does seem like it is time to bring in a new one. Check out Jason Capp's article for more.
