Planetside 2 Surpasses 5 Million Registrations

The European online videogame publisher ProSiebenSat.1 Games and Koch Media have announced that PlanetSide 2 has surpassed five million registered players. Having originally made its debut back in November 2012, PlanetSide 2 has grown rapidly and will even benefit from a PlayStation 4 edition.

Epic game. I remember a few months ago being in a massive tank column of about 30 tanks firing simultaneously. It was a thing of beauty, its a pity I suck at the game though.

same here. I was going through the tutorial and it ran pretty good but as soon as I got into the open world it was chug chug chug. So glad its coming to ps4 game seems like it could be fun.

Stopped playing PS2 cause I prefer Firefall!!!

PS2 is fun but the total lag in proper udates and patches due to Devs working PS4 version drove me to play Firefall Exclusively when I had limited game time due to Arma 3 release.

what lag? I have been playing Planetside 2 for a long time now, and have only had a couple problems none of them being lag.

Did you pick a server that is closest to you?

This game is amazing and it deserves way more attention than what it receives.

I love rolling 40+ deep with tanks trucks and transport, it gets pretty intense.

I really like the game, it CAN be epic at times, but there needs to be more to "Gain or Earn", in terms of a long term battle.

I'm sure with more continents comes continent locking, which will fix the issue kind of, but there still needs to be more.

EX: Let me earn parts by playing, to build my own Base, along with other members of my squad/platoon/faction in order to create new permanent bases.

This would give you motivation to want to play " just one more"

It will be interesting to see if this game (plus Warframe) takes off running on the PS4, seeing how it's free for anyone who wants to download it. PS4 definitely has the leg up with f2p games and it'll be interesting to see if that benefits them in the long run.

Old MAG clans are readying up for it. Some are all ready established as outfits on the PC. Too bad everybody has varying computer specs so they cant get the most out of their skills. Hopefully, the PS4 version will iron out all the messy needs for a better computer/driver/OS cleanliness, etc.

You mean PC has a leg up on f2p games. Been playing Warframe and Planetside now for several months. Very solid games, and for free. You just cant beat that price.

Played it for about 6 months then i had enough of all the bugs that weren't fixed and missing objectives, which made it a very dull game after some time.

I really like the idea of free to play games, over the years I have downloaded a good few onto my PC but due to the fact my PC sucks so bad Ive never got massively into them.

I will certainly be giving this game and any other F2P games a chance on PS4, I think its a really cool chance for people to try new genres too that maybe they've thought about but never wanted to put money into trying.
