PlayStation Store Update 8/6/13

Posted by Grace Chen // Director, PlayStation Store -

It’s a packed week on the PlayStation Store, with pre-orders of NHL 14, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. There’s also this week’s PSN Play title ibb & obb, the beautiful Dragon’s Crown on both PSN & PS Vita, and Tales of Xillia. There’s still one more week to pre-order Ducktales, so jump to it.

Finally, it’s time to celebrate Sound Shapes’ birthday, and we’re doing just that with a sale on the game plus all its add-on content, and we’re throwing in some avatars for good measure. Happy birthday, Sound Shapes!

It was excellent!

Can't compare to the old ones though as I've never played one before this.

Pillsbury13912d ago

The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.

Snookies1235d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Damn, that sucks to hear... His designs were always wonderful.

H935d ago

RIP, sheade some great designs, man it's one after the other this year

FinalFantasyFanatic34d ago

We're 3 months into the year and I feel like we're taking nothing but L's.

autobotdan35d ago

Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(

scorpio_204935d ago

I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - A Decade in the Shadows

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell has been out of action for a decade, so it's time to look back at 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Sam Fisher is evidently the most skilled stealth operative because no-one has seen him in his own game for years

kevco33244d ago

10 years, in fact. He must be, like, 60 by now?

phoenixwing244d ago (Edited 244d ago )

why make an inspired game that takes effort when you can half ass it with multiplayer gaas games and filler filled assassins creed games?

That question up there is the reason you don't see splinter cell games

zarbor244d ago

Yup, another example that Ubisoft has no idea what they are doing.

MIDGETonSTILTS17244d ago

The entire mark and execute system belonged in another game.

It’s cool, but the polar opposite to how Sam Fisher initially handled.

The original trilogy made shooting very, very difficult, yet a viable option, which ultimately motivates stealth.

The mark/execute system makes shooting stupid easy, to the point of why would you even bother trying stealth as an alternative?

FYouDad243d ago

Because Ghost is the method fans of the series actually prefer? IMark and execute is never forced upon the player you liiterally never have to bother using it even once throughout Blacklist.

Tody_ZA244d ago

The sad part is that I actually really enjoyed the last game, Blacklist. It may have lacked the iconic voice but the gameplay was excellent, and blended stealth, action and a mix really great compared to most games, where none of the three options felt like the wrong way to play. I really hope they either produce a remake of the original game or a proper sequel.

Isn't UBI Soft remaking splinter cell.

The load times in retrospect are unbearable but I did have hella fun playing couch co-op with my gf on the PS3 and PS2.

anast330d ago

Couch co-op is the best alternative.

Rynxie330d ago

Resistance 2 co-op was amazing! I wish they would remaster resistance 1-3 and killzone 1-3 for the PS5.

Let me save you the time to scroll down no Warhawk or Starhawk, 2 of the best co-op games on PS3
