GTA V Rated ‘M’ By ESRB

In what is probably the most obvious news of the day, the ESRB has handed Grand Theft Auto V an M rating for its mature themes. Apparently, as expected, it has some violence, blood, strong language, and strong nudity among other things.

GTA V ESRB Rating:

Intense Violence
Blood and Gore
Nudity
Mature Humor
Strong Language
Strong Sexual Content
Use of Drugs and Alcohol

Grand Theft Auto V will be released on September 17 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I'm surprised. I was expecting an E rating. What do I tell little Timmy O Toole now? He so badly wanted to run over an old lady just once before he died. :'(

RATED "M"

That's crap! I was expecting it to be rated "E" for Everyone is gonna buy it anyway no matter if they are 5 or 55 years old.

Saturday night out? *looks at first two on that list*

Is there something you want to talk about lol.

Are you offering a shoulder to cry on then ??

WHAT? Are you kidding me? /s

The sad thing is, even with all those descriptors, the parents of many 12 year olds will get their kid this game, say "Here you go Timmy!", and let the game do the babysitting and parenting. Then when they see what actually goes on in the game they'll be outraged and go to a senator (or lawyer, etc.) to try and tax or ban violent games because "children shouldn't have access to this". -_- I see it coming.

my parents always bought me M rated games
surprisingly enough they never complained about it.
the reason being that they told me that video games
are different from reality.

Have you ever tried simply turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?

Salooh3917d ago (Edited 3917d ago )

Violence didn't effect me when i was a kid. You can cut someone head and torture him in that game and i wouldn't feel anything , i saw that in real life and made me sick so that prove to me violence in video games don't do anything as long you acknowledge the difference between reality and games. But nudity does , so i wouldn't recommend any one to let their kids play a game that include it. There is a reason that we feel bad about it. That's really important in my opinion ..

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing696h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming
